Okay boys, listen up, i need your help.

I recently fucked up a trip to europe last year because i didnt save enough cash in the end (im a 20 yr old waiter) and now im looking to rebook the ticket i originally had going to england, to a bit of a warmer place to party, Buenos Aires (late may) . Its just going to be me and my hag travelling around and partying, were from new york and were both artists and only i speak almost fluent spanish, we hate tourist traps but we love to party.

    So I have some questions...

Mainly i want to stay on a nice beach where i can party all day and relax, but id also like to be near the city because i hear its amazing. does anyone know what the party scene is like? im just looking to drink, smoke some pot and party with locals or other young travellers. so any suggestions on where i should sleep, where i should eat, shop, party, and what i should see, as im a history geek, but my hag is pretty lame so i imagine we wont be doing much of that. Keep in mind im on a budget of about 3,000 USD for a two week stay, which hopefully should be plenty.

    Thanks guys!!!!

For a cheap stay, check out: http://www.hostels.com/. I don't know anything about BA, but look up the area that people recommend on here, find a hostel, and then book at that hostels website. Not all hostels are joint rooms (ie shared between you and strangers), however you will be sharing a bathroom, so if that bothers you, never mind.

Edit: Beach? BA is on a river, and a polluted one at that.

Hola England, como te va? Soy de BsAs! BsAs es un gran cuidad con muchos boliches y MUCHOS lindos!, pero no tenemos una playa!!!! tenemos un rio de mierda jaja!!!

I don't know exactly what hotels/hostels to recommend to you, but area wise you'd want to stay in Palermo, Barrio Norte, Recoleta they are safe areas and central to PorteƱo life. With your budget if between you and a friend you could also rent an apartment for two weeks, the current exchange rate is U$D1 - $3.80.

Anyway if you have any other questions as far as things to do, places to eat, clubs let me know and I'll be more then happy to help you out and hope you enjoy your experience in my city! Umm, for May you also should bring a light sweater as it will be cooler because it will be middle/end of autumn!

    Chau!

Not likely you will be able to do beach and city party at the same time. BA is gigantic. Tons of fun, but you aren't going to find beach there. As noted, it is on a large river, and there are some cool towns on the river as you head north, but then you have quite a journey to get back into the party areas of BA.

You'd be better off just to visit BA and forget the beach. You can do beach over in Uruguay in Punta del Este (though it can be pricey).

You gotta decide if you want beach or urban party. I think BA is one of the greatest cities in the world. Try to be there on a Sunday especially for the major street fair. If you want beach, and you speak Spanish, then head to Mexico. Much more beach and much more affordable. Or even Dominican Republic for pure beach. 5-star hotels that are very cheap. BA is "low cost" compared to places like London, but it's still a major city and therefore world prices prevail.

As noted also, hostel is good, or rent an apartment.

    In Buenos Aires:

    Stay at the Milhouse hostel

    Clubs: AMERIKA and GLAM.

Take the daily tours around the city.

    You're done.

I visited BA in October of '07 with friends and had an excellent experience renting an apartment through http://www.bytargentina.com/. 2 bedroom 1 bath with balcony overlooking the city for about $350 for the week. In the heart of Palermo, best spot in the city. Have a blast!

Um,...there is more to see of the city besides city tours!

Amerika is gross and low class!!!!!!, and Glam is nice on a Thursday, but wouldn't be caught dead there on a Saturday and no way is it the best place to go here in BsAs!
