I just got a Wii and am currently enjoying playing "Cursed Mountain" and can not wait to get Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 (just ordered them).

I was wondering what others are playing and what games are your favorite. Maybe give me some ideas for future purchases.

It's not bad. But once you've finished the game, that's pretty much it. There's not a whole lot of incentive to keep playing it unless you feel like starting over from the beginning for nostalgia's sake.

Boom Blox is pretty fun, and seemingly overlooked. The whole point of the game is basically throwing balls at blocks, but it has a lot of variety and is one of my faves.

Steven Spielberg also directed it; though I can't imagine what part he actually had.

YESSS New Super Mario Bros. It's easy to finish in one day....But try with 2-4 players, the result is hilarious/frustrating. My bf and I play and we've gotten into some serious arguments.

ALSO. Super Mario Galaxy an oldie but a goodie. It won "Game of the Year" when it came out.

We have a couple of Wii games. New Super Mario Bros Wii is getting the most play time at the moment when guests are over, but I'm still looking for opponents in Mario Kart Wii.

    Three games I'd recommend:

Metroid Prime Trilogy Edition-- Three great games in one sweet blue-tinted, collector-tin package. The first two Metroid games were originally made for Gamecube, but were rereleased to utilize the wii controls. I haven't been a big Metroid fan, but even so the gameplay is pretty fun.

Warioware: Smooth Moves-- This is a GREAT game for multiplaying. It's a collection of 5-10 second microgames that put your reflexes and dexterity to the test. Very fun and entertaining.

Super Mario Galaxy-- A very fun little diversion. A bit on the easy side, but still very entertaining.

Paper Mario is incredible!! I don't go for RPGs - but love this series... this is by far the funniest and best rendered in all regards. Very very sharply done.

I'm just about to crack open and start playing "Dead Space Wii" - I will let you all know how it is - it's looks amazing. icon_twisted.gif

I highly recommend Super Smash Brothers!

Hey!!!! We should all play each other!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Super Smash Bros Brawl is a great game to play. If you're like me and a bit of a medical nut, then the trauma centre games are the way to go. But i must admit I find I get bored of my wii pretty easily. Need someone to recommend a decent single player game because the only time I ever play my wii is when i have guests over icon_sad.gif If only Final Fantasy 13 was going to be on wii as well....

SSBB, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Zelda:TP, SMB:Wii, No More Heroes 2 (releases on 1/26, but I've played an advance copy and love it. It's a must-buy title), MadWorld.

Unfortunately, third party software has an abyssmal sales history on Wii. Ea, which originally announced more support for Wii in '09 and beyond, has decided to limit platform support (EA Sports like Tiger Woods and tennis titles will remain), and Capcom has announced that it will focus its attention on PS3 and 360, but not Wii. Others are following suit. Nintendo placed too much faith in gamers' desire to play previous-gen styled titles in a next-gen environment. In terms of gameplay and graphics, Wii is not much better than GameCube, and the Wii-mote has become more of a handicap and novelty than widely-adopted controller. I have a hard-on for Nintendo, and always have, but I'm disappointed with the long-term outlook. Nintendo prints money, and always has, but it has to step up its game if it wants to continue to appeal to the core gaming community.

Also, check out what's available on Wii Virtual Console. There are a lot of great retro titles to download, but you'll need to by the classic controller for most of those games.
