Hey just wanted to see who uses what, I used to be an avid user of Outlook but stopped using it after the newer versions introduced a ton of features that are kinda complected and time consuming. I run windows but have played with ical and have a version written in .net but thats not a daily option for me. Now i'm thinking about going with google calender because i could sync that with my blackberry. And has anybody tried mozilla sunbird calender?

Go whatever route you can to get your contacts and info up in the cloud (Google being one of those). Then you're poised to move your information with whatever phone and computers you upgrade to in the future.

MMM....Outlook pretty much runs my life, I have everything in there and make use of all the features..

I am using the 2007 version right now and in my older version I created some lists using the "task" format to keep track of contacts, another lost for longer tasks etc. and I used different column headers for each of those lists.

But the 2007 version it has a feature where it bunches all of your task lists together on one page whhioch sucks big time!, it does allow you to separate them but its a right mess and there is no way to stop it happening. It screwed up a few weeks back and all the custom column headers I created for eaxh list became part of every list!. It was a real pain to sort out to return each list to its original state. Not impressed with that.

I still have an old Pocket PC and it syncs perfectly with that though.

I have never tried this google system, is it a download or is it all online?, and would I need to re-enter all my contact stuff or is there an "import" option?

    No: to Mozilla Sunbird.

Yes: to calendars, planners, organizers, and reminders on my phone.

My Blackberry to do list/calendar has my stuff organized for the next week. My friends recently bought me a naked woman calendar for my wall, i was completely oblivious tot the fact it was full of naked women as i was so excited cause i could now score off days as it got closer to holiday time icon_biggrin.gif

    Outlook for me.

Back in the day I used a paper day by day calendar to jot appointments, notes and other reminders down.

However that's old fashion...I upgraded icon_biggrin.gif Last fall, I was able to sync my iPod touch to Microsoft Outlook at work. I use the touch for everything now. Even if I don't have Wi-Fi access, I can still enter things in the calendar/contacts and when I get home, it uploads it to the network. Pretty nifty!

If only I had an iPhone **sighs and dreams of how nice it would be to have internet everywhere***

I have a calendar, hanging on a nail, pounded into a wall.

Just started using Office 2010 (beta) today, and I've been using Outlook along with my Blackberry for a while. I'd forget everything if I didn't have my calendar synced with my phone.

I use my Blackberry for calendar, notes and addresses but went back to the old fashion appointment calendar on my desk at work and I LOVE it. I can easily glance at it, I mark off things I've done, add notes and best of all I have a permanent paper record that I don't have to back up for reference. Old fashion but it is much more efficient actually.

I never liked Sunbird. It was kinda clunky. I don't need anything advanced. Just an electronic version of a wall calender with simple reminders. I use Active Desktop Calendar. Fits my needs just fine. And it has the option to sync with Google Calendar.

Rainlandar is pretty good too. It comes in both lite and full versions. I think the lite version is sufficient for most people.
