I am just wondering because I have noticed that the amount of men that hit on me has taken a sharp decline! Other of my darker skinned brothers seem to have have noticed it too. While "mix" black guys say it is about the same...So what say you? This is not one those Black guy can live with white men jocking him--Other black men seem less and less interested too!

Are black men out of style and why? Is it just me? Maybe I am less appealing that a couple years ago?

I don't think that a race of men ever really goes in and out of style. The amount of me getting hit on hasn't really changed.

Well I just read a study that pretty much stated that black men were the lease desirable gay in regards to dating.

So there IS change over time--people do track this kind of thing all the time in str8 world. If you are 30 year old Asian women the odds of you getting married and so on--Well recently I guess a similar study came back with of all types of gay men black, white mixed, Latin and so on... black men were at the bottom on everyone list--including other black men!

That was not really my point/question. I think we can all agree all men regardless of race beauty (universal) is there.

Anyway I think what I am trying to ask is if you walk into say a bar--and there are 10 guys of different races an generally speaking their hotness/education level/ body are equal at say an 8-- would you select the black guy last and why?

I am NOT asking if you find black men attractive or not or whatever--clearly race is preference, but if you are OPEN to all races I am trying to find out why black men are at the bottom of the list in this study.

Can you give satistics please! I'd like to know how many men in numbers hit on you daily summed by week=month before, and the numbers reflecting current status quo. We can then possibly figure out season and time of year. It just might be you have nothing to worry about.

I am sorry I don't keep an excel spread sheet of how many guys hit on it is still daily but I live in San Francisco so my number are skewed a little but it has gone down. However think I can say that I have notice a reduction across the board--and when I hit on guys I am striking out a little more often than before...

It could be that my personal appeal has gone down between say 25-and 28.

I am more interested in what you have noticed your self and I want to know what you think. I searching the web for this study so I can post the link.

Found it-- Here is the part related to my post--the rest is crap about prop 8:

According to a recent study by H. Fisher Raymond and Willi McFarland, from the San Francisco Department of Public Health, the social barriers black men face may be responsible for the raging AIDS epidemic in their community. Other races find black men undesirable, limiting their diversity of sexual partners.

The perception is that black men are most likely to transmit HIV. African Americans make up only 13 percent of the U.S. population, yet they account for 57 percent of new AIDS infections. According to the study:

Black gay men are the least preferred of sexual partners by other races, according to the interview data. Black men also are perceived to be riskier to have sex with, which can lead to men of other races avoiding black men as sexual partners. They are also perceived as less welcome in the common social venues of gay men in San Francisco. As a result, black men are three times more likely to have sexual partners that are also black, than would be expected by chance alone.

In the study authors’ view, the combination of attitudes on the part of nonblack gay men, friendships and social networks that are less likely to include blacks, and the environments found in gay venues serve to separate black gay men from other groups. Consequently, the sexual networks of blacks are pushed to be more highly interconnected than other groups, with the potential for a more rapid spread of HIV and a higher sustained prevalence of infection among black gay men.

    http://blog.shankbone.org/2009/07/13/black-men-least-desirable-sexual-partners-study/

So the study is saying not only do other races not even want to have sex with gay because they think most of them have HIV but they don't even include them in social events as friends.

How is San Francisco a reflection of the rest of the cities in America? San Francisco's population is 7.8% black. Now compare that to Atlanta whose population is 67.4% black or Houston whose population is 25.3% black.

Do you think that if they did the same study in either one of these cities that the results will be the same?

Dude do you need your ego stroked? Don't lk for validation. I personally could care less and leave little to no space of thought to who is not interested in me and why. Why care if their not. For everyone that isn't there is someone who is.

was there ever a time when black men were en vogue? let me know so we can compare the apparently loss in popularity.

what you state here is a bit contradictory - your preferences would tend to indicate who you will find attractive and approach. so although all men may be equally attractive preferences would steer you to a particular person.

but i have not noticed that i have "gone out of style". just the opposite as a matter of fact.

i find myself constantly being contacted by both married and single men who want their first taste of the mighty big black cock. and who want me to make them my sub or slave.

I won't answer the question directly, but I'd like to suggest that rather than think about the quantity of men that are hitting on you, focus on the quality. All it takes is one good man.

As regards the study done, Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) once said, "there are lies, there are DAMN lies, and then there are STATISTICS !!! " Results from studies can easily be skewed to reflect researcher bias.
As for the pic, I too had to laugh. I don't know who said it but, "laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone." Good people never go out of style... whatever their color.

Caslon1200 & Turbobilly, for me the pix is as stupid as the initial post. This is truly an example of how ppl see things in different lt which is not that big of deal but let me explain what I see frm my perspective.

The initial post is someone who needs ego stroking or reinforcement that someone is interested in him and wants ppl to affirm he's desirable as a blk man.......DUMB. then comes along an image of some happy blk dude in a tub w/ a 40oz. He offers no language but this pix which leaves an impression of what? Part of my emotion is that I think brandon is a moron who I have crossed paths w/ in the forum before and fought over something stupid, but his 1st impression is the lasting one as he lashed out called names and I truly find him to be a roach who needs to be exterminated. but that's just my opinion and at the end of the day who really cares. If there had been some thought behind the pix it would have possibly meant something different.... to me at least.

Wow! You're either crazier than I thought or you can't turn the other cheek and forgive. .... What remains unclear, however, is why you are so aggressive ...icon_eek.gif

In the guise of not being another why don't white men want me?

And that baffles me. There are so many men in the world, so you get rejected by one, keep it moving. And there are a lot of hot black guys in San Francisco (one of my buddies) and guys that I have met on here. The same thing that they complain about is the same thing they are doing to black guys.

that has to be the scariest cat i've ever saw!

to the author, I wound't even let it bother you. I have a friend and she almost 34 and a single mother who wonders when she find someone. To this I say you have to wait and be patient. Like fishing, you gonna have good days and then you going to have bad days. But in the long run you gotta keep going out and try again.
