No one was ripped a new anything.
It was simply more Radical Right Wing Republican whining.

The RULES in the Congress allow either party that has the majority to bypass the committee and combine the House and Senate bills, in secret, without including the minority party. It just so happens that, at this time, the Democrats have the majority.

So, what's the big deal ?

First off, I never considered Jack Cafferty as a radical right wingnut.

Second, yes....you are right about the rules...but I do remember the promises of "openness in the process" that were made previously. Personally, I thought that it was a mistake to make promises of that nature because it might be a tall order to make good on.

    But...they were made.

I can understand where Cafferty is coming from....totally.

Reminds me of this e-mail making the rounds lately:

Oprah Winfrey asked Obama to grade his first year as president and he gave himself a B+. His friend legendary California politician, Willie Brown, gave the president an "incomplete."

You can argue among yourselves about this grade, but let's review:

    1. After blaming eight years of Bush's economic policies for all the world's woes, Pres. Obama did the following:
    A. Rescinded the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003.
    B. Replaced Ben Bernanke as chairman of the Fed Reserve.
    C. Refused to do another stimulus and bailout like Bush had tried in 2008.
    D. None of the above.

    2. After promising in his campaign to end "bitter, partisan fights" Pres. Obama did the following:
    A. He worked with Republican leaders to help write the $787 billion economic stimulus.
    B. He worked with Republican leaders to help write the cap-and-trade legislation.
    C. He worked with Republican leaders to help write healthcare reform legislation.
    D. He told Republican leaders in January: "I won, so I think on that one, I trump you."

    3. After promising to write healthcare legislation live on C-SPAN what actually transpired?
    A. The final Senate bill was written in secret by Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid.
    B. To secure passage, the 58 Democratic senators and two independents hashed everything out behind closed doors---even without staff at one time.
    C. The administration committed more than a billion dollars in ear-marks to secure the 60 votes needed to pass in the Democrat-contolled Senate.
    D. All of the above.

    4. After claiming his administration did the greatest job of vetting job seekers in the history of the White House, how many of his nominees for Cabinet positions wound up with tax problems?
    A. Zero
    B. One
    C. Two
    D. At least three.

    5. How many people crashed the Nov. 24th State Dinner?
    A. Zero
    B. One
    C. Two
    D. At least three.

    6. Giving British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a boxed set of DVDs was considered a diplomatic faux paus because:
    A. It was a cheap gift.
    B. The DVDs could not be played on a British DVD player.
    C. Brown is blind in one eye and has problems seeing with the other.
    D. All of the above.

    7. According to Recovery.gov, selling nine pairs of work boots to the government under the $787 billion stimulus creates:
    A. No jobs.
    B. One job.
    C. Two jobs.
    D. Nine jobs.

    8. Which war did the President fight hardest in 2009?
    A. The Global War on Terrorism.
    B. The Iraq War
    C. The Afghanistan War.
    D. The war on Fox News.

    9. President Obama's smart diplomacy has worked to do which of the following:
    A. Bring Israelis and Palestinians together to promote peace in that region.
    B. Bring Iran to the negotiating table to end it's pursuit of nuclear weaponry.
    C. Bring North Korea to the negotiating table to end it's pursuit of nuclear weaponry.
    D. Get a college professor and a police officer to sit down for a beer.

    10. In a nod to President Lincoln's Team of Rivals cabinet, President Obama appointed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Mrs. Clinton has:
    A. Addressed the United Nations.
    B. Accompanied the president on every one of his foreign trips.
    C. Been the most active secretary of state since Henry Kissinger.
    D. Visited the Congo.

The answers, of course, are all "D."

Obama and Pelosi deserved everything that was said in the video. What is the harm in making it public? Is there something that they don't want us to know?

I can't wait for election day!

    Silverfox,
Yeah I agree. It goes against the whole concept of 'Change' Obama promised and back to politics as usual.

    AJ40,
I think people here do care but there isn't much one can say to defend or rectify it.
