Thats such a bunch of bull shit. It's not good for you, even in moderation... and you all are exactly right, it is in EVERYTHING. To do without, you really have to make an concious effort and remove a LOT of stuff from your diet. However, I'm not sure which is worse... high-fructose corn syrup or aspartame.

I'm for making the conscious effort, however, has anyone else notices how expensive it is to eat healthy? Seems a little backwards.

Frankly the popsicle is more disturbing than its fructose content. American food is WAY too sweet and contains way too much sugar for a healthy diet. THAT'S the real monster here.

    Here are some facts:

Corn syrup is 100% (more or less) Glucose
Fructose occurs naturally in most all fruits and can be made from glucose
    Honey is about 40% fructose

Fructose is sweeter than table sugar but has fewer calories

High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is just corn syrup to which fructose (which is made from glucose) is added in various proportions. The most common blend is HFCS 55 which is 55% fructose and is widely used in beverages. Now take an apple - it too contains about 55% fructose but an apple is not anywhere near as sweet as a soda.

Let's make sure we're correctly identifying the right monster - it's NOT fructose or HFCS, it's the abundance of overly sweetened food in our diet.
