I'm trying to get more fit, and lose some weight. What I'm wondering is how many grams of fat and calories should someone who is 20 with a body frame like myself eat in a day? I dont want to starve, and I dont want to overdo it.

A simple way to look at it without getting too specific to your own personal needs:

    (for loosing weight)
    Calories in : Calories out

To loose weight it'd obviously be smart to restrict your caloric intake to some extent, while also upping calorie expenditure. Eat the right foods, do a bunch of cardio, and you'll have the basics for loosing weight. There are plenty of websites (including RJ) and books that tell great ways to loose weight, what to eat, and give workout routines. Hope you'll be able to reach your goals, it'll take time, but will be well worth it icon_smile.gif

Read up on BMR / Base Metabolic Requirements.

Using what you learn there, you can easily compute your caloric requirements, and program your deficit / surplus accordingly.

I wonder about that myself...is there anything a person at my stats and activity level should know about daily rates of total calories/carbs/protein/fat that would help me burn?

How much should I be getting a day?
