I met judge judy when I was in the US, no photos but it was cool.. just spotted her in a store and went up to her, introduced my self, told her I loved the way she handled people, she smiled, thanked me, we made brief small talk and I left her to it..

    Lovely lady

I wonder if that show is real

Ok at the risk of dating myself - i met John Wayne once as a young kid. The family was dinning at the same restaurant in a coastal city outside of Houston - JW was here filming. Anyhow I insisted we wait for him to come out so that I could meet him and tell him my name was JW too. So I did and he said "Well son I hope you don't grow up as big and ugly as I am". :-)

I knocked Kanye West into a book shelf at Midtown Comics in Manhattan a couple of years ago. He's so short, I didn't even see him. His assistant tried to give me some attitude but I just gave him one of my country looks that conveys "Whatchu gonna do about it?" They left shortly thereafter.

What was Newman like? I love that man's work.

I also met Simon Whitfield, he used to the secretary for my water polo club and I remember walking outside my house and he was playing basketball (not too well) with my younger brother haha.

    makavelli saidRed_Vespa:

    Whaat do you do?

A mix of things brought me into contact with diverse famous people. My late parents were active in Republican politics in New Jersey, and their money & influence gave me entrée to very rarified social circles when I was young.

My own military rank also gave me governmental access to high-level people. For instance, I was Governor (of Arkansas) Bill Clinton's military escort during his state's 1991 welcome celebrations for returning veterans from Desert Storm, the first Gulf War.

Among my college degrees is one in Broadcasting, which brought me into contact with many entertainment personalities. I've done TV & radio, in which I've met countless celebrities.

I'm not famous myself, far from it, but I meet the famous regularly. And I'll tell you a secret. Most of them are just like you & me, and prefer to be treated that way. Only a very few are spoiled & pampered prima donnas.

And I so I deal with them like I would with anyone, and that's what most of them like the best. I treat them as equals, not worshipful or subordinate, and they are thankful. Sycophants they have in abundance; ordinary people is what they really want around them.

So next time you meet a famous person, treat them as an equal, never grovel, and remember that in this country at least, nobody is better than anybody else. Greet them as your equal, and you will BE their equal.
