Protein shakes during off days?

I work out about 5x/week and am hoping to add some more muscle. I always drink a protein shake after each workout (GNC whey protein, 2 scoops, 40g of protein).

Should I also drink one of those shakes on days that I don't workout? If so, when? (Can't really drink one at work, so the choices are: before work; right after work; after dinner; or later at night.)

i find it beneficial to maintain the protein intake throughout my entire cycle, including off days. as long as you're not consuming more protein than your body can absorb, you'll be fine.

on off days for me, i take 2 shakes. one at midday as if it were right after my workout (i workout in the afternoons) - and the other right before bed (this is my slow absorption shake)

I always take one before bed. I've found I'm less likely to wake up hungry and I wake up and have an appetite again (which is incredibly important for me because otherwise it would be easy for me to just skip breakfast). Plus, it seems to, at the very least, helped me maintain muscle better while remaining as lean as possible. For me, hard to come is easy to go...
