Actually a huge fan of the facebook! I can easily keep in touch with family in France, Japan, and Hawaii and friends from around the world. I also find it easier to share pictures, music, organize events.

I never get suckered into those dumb games though such as Farmville, restaurant city thankfully! jaja

I have even met a boy via facebook and have a park and mate date on saturday! icon_lol.gif

im so over facebook. i remember back when you had to have a .edu email to join! Ohh the good old days!

Lately I have been laughing because all these random people I knew when I was in high school close to 10 years ago have been asking to be my friend. Is it weird that I enjoy hitting the button to deny their friend request. We are not friends, we were barely even friends 10 years ago! Get over yourself. Life is not a popularity contest!

I know what you mean. Some married friends were coming back from vacation, and all of them updating facebook with their iPhones about where they are and what they're doing.

    For example:
"On our way home, made a rest stop."

I was waiting for the bathroom report of those activities [solid or liquid / weight / volume /etc.] Lucky for all, those details weren't supplied.icon_rolleyes.gif

I connected with, and came out to, a number of people from high school on facebook. It was the easiest way to come out too, no stupid questions like "are you seeing someone", etc. When they looked up my profile it says "single" and what I'm looking for "men".

A great proportion of them were incredibly cool about it at the high school reunion this November. Everyone on Facebook knew I was gay, the rest were somewhat oblivious. One of my friends from high school, in front of like five other people that had no clue, asked me if i was "into black guys". He was trying to set me up with a friend of his, but talk about bad timing!

I resisted Facebook for the longest time, but finally gave in to peer pressure, lol. It's a wierd thing for me...I have family, friends, co-workers, and derby people on mine. I say it's where my worlds collide icon_lol.gif

I quote a friend on facebook about his use. "Everyone is entitled to my opinion".....

I tried to break up with FB and a lot of the people that I have added said no. It took them 17 years to finally catch up, and they wanted to hear what I was doing these days. Wow... When we were passing each other in the halls of the small town highschool, you wouldn't give me the time of day.

"screw you guys... i'm going home...........".

I like twitter... in fact, I tweet more than I FB. At first I didn't get tweeting, but now I do. It really is a great way to keep connected with friends and family throughout the day. I tweet to a small audience though and I think that helps me keep my twitter wall manageable. We tweet back and forth to each other throughout the day and it is lots of fun.

Farmville is quite addicting and fun. Unfortunately, the Farmville wall postings are necessary because they offer extras and virtual $$ to that player's FB friends who also happen to play the game. If you don't like want to see your FB friends' Farmville postings you can always the application's postings (on top right corner of the posting you can select to hide future postings).

No kidding, but the creepiest part about it now is when your aunts and other extended family want to be your friend. If you deny them they will bring it up the next time your together, if you accept they'll bitch to someone about what you're doing.

Security settings are your friend Melos. Control who can see what, and when. It makes life easier. I do know how you feel. Last week a friend asked me to put a check mark by my name to show my support for equal marriage rights. I did, not thinking of the fact that everyone and there mother wanted to know what it means. Everyone, including every conservative family member and friend I have...the joys of advocacy.

True, but I've kinda given up on trying to impress them. I never told any of my extended family that I was out, but after looking at my profile for 5 seconds would tell them otherwise. No one has said a thing yet, surprisingly.

Security is my BFF! I don't even use my real name! I am unsearchable and people cannot view a thing on my profile unless we are friends. After all that, I don't have much to hide though. I just don't like people to snoop! As for the family, that I don't mind. I have an amazing family and we are all friends on facebook! About 6 months ago we were having a mug slinging competition to see who could post the most embarrassing baby pictures! It wasn't cute!
