If you aren't at the computer you have your iTunes installed on, then ther eis no easy way to transfer the music.

To clarify, Apple will allow you to transfer only iTunes store transfers from iPod to iTunes. For anything else you would need 3rd party software which is typically easy to find and free.

Ummm you can totally use your iPod as an external hard drive... it requires some messing with your registry on your computer... when I have more time - I'll write you a walkthrough.

Unless you're not comfortable messing with your registry... There can be some adverse effects.

Depending on what operating system you have you can try Senuti which puts your music back on your computer, but I think it's only for Mac. Windows, I believe has similar software, but I'm not certain.

I found that there is a transfer function that I could use to get the songs down on iPhone without being at my home computer.

    Thanks

    Just for future reference:

I find that whenever I am seeing the "search phone" screen; I already have the phone in my hand. I don't have to search for it anymore.
