I know lot of people have been naysayers regarding body sculpting, but anyone had any success?

I was pretty skinny and decided to bulk up, so now I eat around the clock but I'm gaining muscle both top and bottom, I went from 29" waist to 32 in little less than a month. I need to get new jeans already, grr...

See Ronnie from MTVs Jersey Shore. Huge upper body on a lollipop stick. There are lots of guys like that.

I have never tried it but... it is possible. You just have to focus on upper body workouts and limit, if not completely remove, lower body workouts.
If you go to forum.bodybuilding.com/ and just skim through the many posts their you will see how many people refer to this as an "amateur's mistake."

Or you can go to the beach and look at all the people walking by... you'll see a good deal of them with built upper bodies and weak lower bodies.

yeah just stop working out your lower body. Everyday you go to the gym, just upper body strength. It's clearly, based on all the un-proportioned people around, extremely easy, but not sexy...

I'm going to walk into the gym one of these days wearing a shirt that says, "Get a bathroom mirror that goes to the floor. We're all laughing at your bony ass."

2/3 of your lean muscle mass is in your lower body. If you're a Real Jock, lower body development is a given.

Bear in mind, as well, that being asymmetrical, with a dis-proportioned upper body, is not very attractive to many folks. Most folks I know are rather turned off by the lack of lower body development in that it signals a "lazy lifter" / "lazy athlete."

I throw up in my mouth a little when I see a built torso atop two toothpicks. It's like that Tales from the Crypt episode.

Me likey a pair of thick trunks and a meaty booty.

oh knock it off with the bad imagery,

no one said I wanted to have legs for sticks, I have huge legs, just naturally defined muscles, a lot more than the rest of my body, and I wish to have it toned down a slight, no pun intended.

here's an extreme version of what I want, http://www.realjock.com/JPBakerBoy

clearly he is a pro body builder, but I want to have the 29" waist with the nice arms.... I'm sure no one would throw up in their mouth looking at him.

on a side note, it's pretty embarrassing for people to reply with such immature posts, I'd expect that from the kids I teach at school but not from grown men, learn some forum etiquette or don't post at all. I've learned a lot from people on this forum, and I've also shared a lot of my experience with others, and I hope to have that going. Thank you

    29in waist?

That's barely men size... I don't like it. I think having a butt and nice thighs are part of improving your body and reaching full potential.

I'd die if my butt was flat enough to fit in 29 pants... I'm good with 32 icon_smile.gif

If you want a trim waist and a bigger upper body, simply lift until you've got the size you want and trim the body fat to a low %. You probably have concave abs if you were a 28" waist before, so don't overdo your abs or you'll never see that 28" again.

That all said, 32" is not a huge waist, that's within a normal range so don't worry too much.

    I agree.

And, this is why I'm doing more and more LUNGES! I am working on building up my legs to catch up with my arms and chest...

I'm a slow and steady gainer though as I do not eat enough protein in my diet (perhaps). So, I am also going to introduce EGGS to my morning breakfast!

Woohoo! Hoorah for Lower Body Work!!!!! Who's with me???!!!???
