    Now if we can just get 1-35 fixed up totally from the Kansas state line to Oklahoma City, things will be much improved!

    In Virginia, the police periodically have anti-aggressive drivers campaign. I have been waiting for an anti-passive aggressive driver campaign like this. For those people who drive slow in the fast and refuse to let people pass. I think they can be just as dangerous as an aggressive driver. In fact, I think they breed aggressive drivers because they make it impossible for people to pass and traffic backs up.

    I call passive-aggressive drivers "puritans of the highway." They sit behind their wheels and force everybody to drive their way.

    I was on aggressive driving committee in NJ and I try to push the passive aggressive driving like you mentioned into the mandate. But since it's hard to even come up with good way to catch aggressive driver, it's even harder for passive group.

    hey Hndsmkansan, I-35..isn't that the holy highway? LOL Isaiah 35:

    8 And a highway will be there;
    it will be called the Way of Holiness.
    The unclean will not journey on it;
    it will be for those who walk in that Way;
    wicked fools will not go about on it.

    Seems the conservative Christians are already working on that....I've heard they're trying to rid the road of all the bars and "stop by" houses....

    Good for Oklahoma! I think these slow drivers cause more accidents than fast drivers. The Interstate and other limited-access four-lane highways are for speed and distance, so some people should just stay off such roads.

    That's a great way of describing those people and they drive me crazy! They aren't going anywhere fast but the moment you start to pass them they speed up. WTF?

    Another group that drives me crazy are what I call the "Wedgers." You're in a string of fast moving traffic, but due to the amount of traffic it is moving at a slightly slower pace than the speed limit. So you maintain the speed and keep your safe two-car lengths distance from the car in front of you. Then Wedgers want to go faster, and in spite of seeing the string of traffic they try to go around you and wedge into your safe spot. And why? They aren't going anywhere and they're only one more car length ahead of where they were!

    Well DJBens, as the passage states:

    The unclean will not journey on it. I suspect that your picture with a red circle and a diagonal line might be found at the beginning of the highway! LOL

    But this part I don't get:

    it will be for those who walk in that Way

    Who the hell (oops, sorry) wants to walk up a highway! Oh well, the rest of us heathen Christians will just go around it!

    That's why, for a while anyways, I kept a series of giant cards that had instructions written backwards on them...

    "This is the passing lane"
    "Right of Way?"
    "Check Speed"
    "You're big & plastic - I'm Steel*!"

    *I drive an Oldsmobile - I could go through a UPS truck and come out unscathed

    That only lasted until I was pulled over when I flashed it to an undercover cop...

    This is great. I don't understand how so many people can still do this when it's one of everyone's biggest complaints. I hate those people. They'll let car after car go around them and never get out of the far left lane. It's just rude and arrogant to pretend like you're the only one on the road. Besides, I don't see why they haven't been enforcing it all along. It would only make it easier for them to catch the speeders if everyone else that wasn't speeding stayed in the right lane.

    I can't wait for this to be enforced in Florida with all the 100 year olds driving 20miles below the speed limit and slamming on their brakes because someone 300ft ahead of them tapped on their brakes.

    Eh, sometimes it can't be helped to be in the left lane icon_confused.gif

    I won't go above 61 for FE reasons but the work-home commute takes me along I-84 where the only lanes that keep going onward are left lanes and both my entrance and exit ramps are on the left.

    Staying in the right lanes would just make me have to change lanes to avoid exits and I would be always stuck in slower lane changing traffic. I just keep to the 2nd left lane. You can still pass on the left, and if 11 over the limit of 50 mph is to slow for people then they can pass me or choose to ride my ass. At least while on the road staying right behind me will help you save gas.

    Trance, Sorry man, but you really have no right to hog the inside lane - forcing us all to risk our necks to try to go around you. If you think you are going fast enough, yet car after car is passing you on the right, you really need to just get over and let us all pass - even if you feel we're going faster than we should. None of us owns that lane - we should never hog it.

    Hey there Spryte.. Remember its 1-135 between Wichita and Salina.. maybe there is a reprieve there since the KS turnpike is 1-35...... Maybe Pat Robertson is only talking about the turnpike or that section between Emporia and KS City (and I was on there today)!

    Our KS troopers don't pull you over for driving too slow in the passing lane, but I just hate those who just drive there and you have to pass them on the right.icon_confused.gif

    Most of the San Diego freeways on which I drive have 4 lanes or more. There is no reason for these lame drivers to be in the left lane. How about using the #3 lane and let traffic flow? When you pass people on the right and look over, it's obvious that they are totally oblivious to what's going on around them. I love commuting to work with my bike and the trolley. I skip all the drama on the freeway with the left lane bandits.

    I think this should be a FEDERAL law for all interstates!icon_exclaim.gif The left lane is for PASSING, not casual driving!icon_exclaim.gif If you can't do the speed limit or are not involved in "passing", get the hell over!icon_razz.gif That being said...most Ohio drivers don't know that the speed limit in Ohio is only 65MPH!icon_redface.gif Anyone in Columbus knows that I-270, I-70, I-71, I-670 and 315 are all 6 lane free-for-all racetracks and you had better be bustin ass or get run over!icon_surprised.gif
