I am suffering from a 5 year relationship that ended last week. It seems I do ok most of the day until I get home from work in the morning...I work 3rd shift.

The last year has been hell for me health wise since I found out I was poz in May anyway, and now this....I won't go into the boring sappy details of the break up but when I get home I want to eat everything!!!

The weird thing is through out the day my eating habits have actually improved. I promise myself I am going to get back to the gym but haven't been able to go yet. Its just when I get home and before I go to bed I have a mad sugar rush....

I have been thru a box of little debbie cakes, doughnuts, a bag or chips ahoy cookies, potatoe chips, salsa and scoops, lucky charms and the list goes on and on!!!

God help me I need to stop....do you ever do this? I find myself not wanting to eat most of the time from my nerves I guess but when I get home, its all she wrote...ugh!!

Hehe, I'm the complete opposite. I stop eating, and stop sleeping. Become a zombie and eventually realize it and try to do something about it

Pizza, pizza, and MORE pizza...followed by several pints of Ben & Jerry's. A day or two of that and even I break up with me icon_lol.gif

As long as you don't make this a long lasting habit you'll be okay with a few days of extra sweets.

People in general are prone to emotional eating, don't feel bad about it bro. Just don't go over kill on the cake!

I've never understood the breakup/eating thing. Breakups are hard enough as it is, I wouldn't want to compound the misery by eating like shit, feeling like shit and, eventually, looking like shit.

You are the only one who will suffer, and you know that. Do what's BEST for you, not what's worst!

I lose my appetite for food, and sweets (chocolate, baked goods) and coffee are the only things that I can force down.

I lose my appetite at different times and then I crave stuff like crazy at other times...just depends, I get sick of the bad stuff after a while. I don't go to overboard, but will be back on the routine soon and back in the gym I know..

This will just give me even more incentive to look my very best ever this summer and for life,

Nothing wrong with eating instead of some other destructive habit. I'm partial to Haagen-Dazs myself.icon_cool.gif

Pecan or Pumpkin Pie, or some kind of cobbler.

Or a trip to the Golden Corral. One trip there and I won't eat for another week

I'm not big on sweets, but when I'm stressed I'll go buck wild on some caffeine. Two cups of coffee in the morning, 5 or 6 cups of tea at work, some yerba mate when I get home (hard to measure, but probably a liter or so), some Vietnamese coffee before bed, you get the picture. And salty snacks, oh, how I love cracker nuts (deep fried peanuts with breading and then coated in some salty seasoning).

My problem is that when I'm unhappy, I don't eat. Neither one is good. That's why doctors ask if you've had either a sudden gain or loss of weight lately. After my ex-husband of 12 yrs. and I broke up, I dropped another ten lbs. that I really couldn't afford to lose. I've since come back up twenty, which feels better. I don't look so gaunt. I just felt, at the time, as though I'd throw back up the food, and I didn't have much interest in it anyway.

I was confused but I googled it and a breakup is apparently something that comes at the end of something called a relationship. Learn something new every day! icon_biggrin.gif

hmmm i dont eat when im upset. i tend to jump on a massive bag of rice and punch and kick the shit out of it.

then my mum walks in and tells me to stop playing with my food.

feels awesome !! better if there's a picture on the bag so that you don't have to work so hard on imagining who you are trying to hit and just focus on making your hands bleed.

    hehehehe

im kidding with the "making your hands bleed" part, but u get the picture lol
