I would really have a hard time driving this even if it was free. I think I would rekindle my love for mountain bikes unless I had to go far. I had a hard time riding in my friends Pacer.

I agree with ScotNV. I'd ride my moutain bike first. It can't possible hold anything besides maybe a backpack (lol). Plus i hear it has no radio and no AC...those are "must have" items when being on the road.

LOL it's top "safe" speed is 45 mph US. icon_lol.gif

It has a hollow tranny axl. It will fall apart if driven above 45.

If you can afford to buy two of them, you could have some groovy rollerskates!

if I lived in a city and did a lot of short distance driving in city traffic, then sure, why not, but I'd most likely walk or use public transport when available or convenient. would I buy it now, absolutely not...I've got a 20 min. commute each way @ 70MPH, and frequently make 100+ miles trips and a miniscule slow car just wouldn't cut it for me and my 6'3" frame icon_wink.gif

Why cant they make cars that look like carsicon_question.gif You know like the good old days, (which is like late 80's-90's). I like a car that looks like a car not a toyicon_exclaim.gif I have a BMW Z4 which is small but looks normal, not like a egg on wheels and something that will break if u hit a speed bump.

TATA introduced this car - for millions of people its a dream come true to be able to afford 4 wheels that cost $2500... so yes there is a huge market for it but scary to think if this car hits it off then roads would be a lot more crowded than ever before.

By the way..the same co. - TATA is in the process of acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover, they also own luxury hotels all around the world including The Pierre in New York and St. James Court in London... and its a well known fact that Mr. Tata - the owner of this co. is GAY... he is an Indian Parsi just like Freddie Mercury was gay, indian and parsi.

Would I buy this car...? never in a million years.. i'd rather ride a bicycle...at least get some exercise and look hot than sitting behind the wheel of an egg shell..

That has to be the absolute ugliest car I've ever seen! And if the quality of the car is anything like the sound quality in the video, hell no, I wouldn't buy it. It does look like a death trap, really... an ugly one at that... and how utterly un-cool would it be to drive an ugly car that only SAFELY does 45mph... and is called TATA??? I can see the reaction now... my lover and I buy two of these... and our friends come over for dinner and the inevitable question pops up as we stand in the driveway... "Hey guys... how do you like our TATAS?" Oye vey! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Give me a car that's friendly to the environment, has power and speed (I seldom drive below 70mph), rides comfortably, has all available safety features and looks hot... or at least exhibits some kind of attractive design... and isn't called TATA and I'll buy it in a heartbeat. That's really not asking too much... just look up there at that Tesla! ^

I'd buy a Smart before I'd buy Tata. And, I'd probably buy a Toyota Yaris before I'd buy a Smart.

A smart car in UK costs around $20,000. The TATA costs $2500... the smart is better quality and built by mercedes.. neither of them are safe.... but smart is a huge success in europe just because it gives 60 miles a gallon.. and gas in europe is $10 a gallon..

Smart is about the same size as Nano. it can sits 4, well, small people. And I'm surprise no one think of the green value of this car. Despite it's top speed of 60 mph, it makes up its short coming with 54 MPG.

Nissan and some other companies are also trying to design cars that can beat this price. Cheap car will soon become a trend, and change people's mind on transportation/status symbol. After all, it just takes you from point A to B. Car is the 2nd highest price item most people buy next to homes. cutting it by 1/10 is just amazing.

I want the Mercedes B class but they are not selling them in the US even though they are rather inexpensive and fuel efficient.
