1.Say you had 5 pills, each of which could cure any 1 person of homophobia (made a person perfectly OK and even friendly with gay people) which 5 people would you give them to?

In case you can't think of 5 ..What if you only had 1 pill .. who would you give it to?

Pat Robertson. I think if he suddenly came out on our behalf, he would change the tiny, little minds of some of his followers.

I voted for him and can say I am a little disappointed in the progress of gay rights so far. Limited nondiscrimination for federal employees and easy, not very controversial things like hate crimes, is not enough for me. Even if I give in to the idea that he has a lot on his plate or that congress has to send him something, I can't understand some of the actions by his Justice Department that still defended DOMA despite his campaign promises.

There is a cure for homophobia. And for every other of society's ills.

    Knowledge.

Thanks. Sometimes I need something to kick me back to a more positive mood.

I think a cure for homophobia would be best applied where it is worst: the gay community.

That, or some random megachurch, or on Mecca during the hajj.

Actually, I'd probably consider something like that pretty unethical. But nice thought experiment. icon_cool.gif

    1) The Pope
    2) Supreme Court Justice
    3) Dick Cheney- i feel his wife and daughter at least deserve that. Plus, since he and GW share one half of a brain- it would be a 2 for 1!
    4) Ahmadinejad
    5) Sen. Scott Brown

Unethical if forced, but not so if done willingly- in a bet you can't eat all that cake, kinda way.

This is a very tired meme that gets trotted out by the uninformed. I think Obama is okay. He wasn't my first choice. That said, he has done more to move gay rights forward in the last year than we've seen at the federal level in the last three decades. Yes, federal protections and benefits extended. Yes, hate crimes - which I don't actually agree with but there you are. Yes, he has appointed the most queer people, including the first transgender appointment to the federal gov't, ever.

If the Dems in Congress had his back, he would probably have passed ENDA by now. But a) they're owned by corporations (see other threads) and b) we had a little thing you may have heard of called near economic collapse - oh, and two wars - that he's dealing with.

Uninformed? Federal benefits, hate crimes, if congress had his back..... hadn't I kind of, in other words, just mentioned that? I love the line, 'maybe you have heard...economic collapse...two wars' I think I covered that with 'other stuff on his plate'.

The Pope. Chris Christie. Maggie Gallagher. One conservative Supreme Court Justice, any will do.

I'll save the last one for a rainy day.

Being secure within myself, homophobia has never been a worrie to me! I've have a tolerance for views diffrnt to mine, and people diffrent to me as well; but then I'm also an True blue Aussie ( the real thing) and not an american.

So I have no need to change people. So no I would destroy those pills, and never put them to use. With all the hate and intolerance within the gay community, I'd rather a cure for that. so one who may wish to pray away gay is of no worrie to me.
