Caslon13000 saidI guess you are refering to the fact that the white on the suit is removable and then the suit is transparent at those places
Really? I couldn't find any mention or pics of that feature on the manufacturers web site.
The swimsuits sold in gay stores here in Fort Lauderdale are far more daring, with huge shaped pouches and built-in C-rings, plus clear side panels. But they're more likely to be worn at the over 30 gay guest houses & resorts in this area, by guys who are uncomfortable with the allowable full nudity, or think an ass-shaping, crotch-enhancing suit shows off their assets better.
But side panels are not an entirely new concept. Until I was about 7 or 8, I swam nude in our backyard pool, which had a fair amount of privacy. At the shore I wore trunks, but not at home, my younger sister by 3 years also entering the pool with me under our parents supervision, but always with at least some frilly swim bottoms, though not a top.
Such was the habit with little boys in the 1950s when you weren't in public, who also swam nude at the Y, and my sister & I likewise took baths together to make things easier for my mother. And I didn't think anything of it, just how it was done.
But at about 7 or 8 that all stopped, perhaps because my sister was getting too old, and maybe our neighbors had said something, or the parents of the boys who swam with me wanted us to all wear suits, and possibly I even started to get stiffies, I dunno.
So one day my mother took me to get a swimming pool suit, and she selected this brief, bright yellow Speedo-like thing. And it had open panels on the sides that revealed my skin, behind a crisscross basket-weave pattern of fabric.
And I was so embarrassed to wear it! I was more comfortable nude, but this thing seemed more daring, and even girly to me, the last thing I wanted to wear in front of my boy friends. And they did indeed make fun of me in it. I refused to wear it to the beach, and so I was also given a pair of conventional trunks for that. I guess I had outgrown the previous season's, why they hadn't been a pool option.
I know I also wore trunks at my first boys summer camp at age 8, but we skinny-dipped at times, too, along with our camp counselors. First time I'd ever seen adult men so openly nude, a big turning point in my life, and the subject of one of my short stories.
So whenever I see racy men's swimsuits I have flashbacks to that horrible yellow thing with the open side panels I once had to wear, and I won't buy them for myself, still preferring to swim nude whenever I can. Otherwise I just wear baggy board shorts.
