So apparently, Paramount has recently taken on the task of making PA2. It has hired the director of Saw VI who, ironically, who's movie was beaten out by Paranormal Activity last Halloween.

Honestly, i dont think Paranormal Activity needs a next installment. It was great just by itself, especially since it made so much on so little. Not to mention, how are you gonna make a sequel when there is nothing necessarily to continue off of, besides MAYBE the background story of the girl they research in the movie who had the same things "happening" to her. Also, whats with the Saw director jumping franchises?? I think the fact that PA made more than his precious Saw, he's just in it for the money. I cannot be completely positive on that, but he did lose out to it, whats his motive??

All in all, i dont think that this movie needs a sequel, as such i dont believe that the new director will do half as good a job as the original. Unless they can bring something to the table that hasn't been done yet, or that will compliment the original movie....this movie should just be left alone....

    what do you guys think??

I think Paranormal Activity is one of the lamest excuses for a movie ever made. Not scary, very predictable, just plain dumb. But, it made lots of bucks so of course there will be a sequel. But, I also wish I was the guy who made the film for 15 grand. He's probably laughing all the way to the bank.

I don't think it is a good idea! It would be like making another Sixth Sense!!! The surprise is gone!!

Exactly! It will never live up to the original. Sequels rarely do, especially in this genre.

Exactly! I've been more scared watching C-SPAN!
10 minutes in and I was checking my watch. 20 mins in and I was mentally willing her to kill him by shoving that camera up his ass!

Paranormal Activity SUCKED. I honestly don't get why people liked it? How boring can one suspense movie be?

And Paranormal Activity 2 is coming out in October and of course, I will see it, but have doubts of it making me scared.

I'm more scared of um... things happening lol and nothing really happened in this movie that HASN'T happened in many movies before.

"Drag me to Hell" is this movie, but 100 times better.

That sucked big time and I think so will this one. Why do they have to turn every successful movie into a franchise.

Yeah,Paranormal Activity was horse shit. I keep waiting for people to come out and say that they were joking about how scary it was and that they told people to see it since they got duped out of money by seeing it.

i like paranormal activity, but i dont think it was the movie itself but the experience, me and 12 buds got drunk went to a crowded theatre and screamed our heads off in a drunken manner then went home and had a huge slumberparty while stupidly playing with a Ouija board...

    twas fun icon_smile.gif

...kind of like the midnight showings of rocky horror, horrid movie but its fun to go be stupid

Oh and whatever you guys do, DON'T watch 'The Fourth Kind'. It was pure crap.

I expected to be entertained at least by seemingly real stories of abductions. All I got was hours of people talking to shrinks, sumerian bullshit, owls, and a supremely fake 'based on actual events' premise. Yeah right.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought paranormal activity sucked like shit.

the most disappointment was that they didn't even show the damn demon, wtf? it would've been better if they had some scary moments where the demon just pops up in their face(like when that guy peeks in the attic). also some dark visual figures moving in and out the room while they slept or in the hallway would've been more better as well.

Lol, the whole movie premise is supposed to be as if this is a real scenario. If this whole situation was occurring to you, as it did to the couple in the movie, i dont think you would necessarily think it was pure crap or stupid. Not to mention, when you see a movie, the feeling of being in their shoes is the scariest part. I know, that if i got pulled outta my bed and dragged down the stairs id be screaming my head off too. Heck, id be pissing my pants if my door slammed on its own!! haha!! All in all, i think it was a very good movie, for what it was, and for how little it took to produce, its excellent.

They just dont make good suspense movies anymore, this was much more Hitchcock which is sometimes much more entertaining than anything gory and completely disturbing....

The Director of SAW VI, Kevin Greutert, has been shuffled back to Lionsgate's franchise to direct SAW VII. He is very pissed at Lionsgate for the move.

Poor Kevin! He is being forced to stick with the SAW Franchise! It's unbelievable! David Hackll, who directed SAW V, was slated to direct SAW VII 3D but now he has been moved to another Lionsgate film.

Kevin was looking forward to SAW VI being his "farewell" to the franchise and really wanted to move on. In a sense, I am happy that he's sticking with SAW (my fave franchise) and in the same respect I am pissed that he isn't allowed to expand his career! Oh and by the way...Paranormal Activity sucked major balls...just like David Hackl's SAW V...lol
