i will be frank. i am looking to tighten my ass. i can no longer bike due to health reasons, but back in those days i would say that did the trick. i then started to jog and that increased the size of my ass, but not in a way i found appealling. it seems to tone the top of it and just make it much bigger so that it is not proportionate to my body.

ive been trying various things in the gym...but i am new to this so ive appreciate pointers. would more reps with lighter reps work? that is my next plan. i have been told not to do squats as that hurts my back.

i would also like to flatten my chest. would the same rules apply?

    thnx.

How do squats hurt your back? Can you do them at all?

What do you mean by "flatten" your chest?

Sounds like the poster has some problems of imbalance and strength that he needs to work on.

Generally speaking, the area that's weak / hurts is the one you need to work / rehab.

Squats, legs presses, lunges, step ups.

Also sounds like he needs to work on abs, and back, since he says his back hurts.

    Often, pain indicates weakness.

If you coddle a part, it only gets weaker. If you work it, it gets stronger, better, and brings the machine that is the human body back into balance. That's the whole premise of occupational and physical therapy, and...it works.

The poster needs to strengthen the weak parts so he becomes pain free and achieves normal function.

If you want tone in your glutes, work legs. That's how it works........

Unless the poster is looking for a gender change, physical work will make the chest larger, with broader curves of muscle development. For a Real Jock, flattening the chest isn't an option. If you workout out, it's going to get bigger. (What a unique goal....)

It sounds like the poster may need some level of counseling as to why his goals would run opposed to standard workout regimens and fitness.
