Has anybody done this? Basically, you turn off the television, turn off the computer, leave your cell phone at home, and basically find other things to entertain you. For examples, going hiking, biking, or playing a board game. I often think about doing it when I feel like I have been in the house for too long or am checking my cell phone or e-mail every few minutes.

Every once in a while, I do this.
It's good for the mind... and soul... and electric bill.

I do it primarily with the TV. Not that there is much to miss! I don’t know how well I would do without the laptop though.

I find it hard to when work 5 days a week forces me to work on a computer. I would like to try it, but I'd have to have a lot of spare time on my hands. Disconnecting on a Saturday is like not celebrating your birthday, the chance comes only every so often

I can never make it an entire day, but sometimes it is wonderful to turn my cell phone off for a couple of hours and be completely inaccessible to everyone.
