    I was very sad to see this today, I thought he was one of the finer historians in recent times. "A People's History of the United States" has been on my bookshelf for a few years now; truly an amazing piece of work.

    Many historians hide their biases behind their citations. Zinn never did that. You knew exactly where he stood because he told you right off the bat.

    I made a thread about this when I first heard it yesterday... I was on the phone with my mom and my jaw dropped and I stopped listening to her.

    It's so unfortunate that, like Cronkite, his death will be overlooked...

    Sad loss. Wish more people were familiar with his work. It's the history we should have been taught in school.
