Reasons for Exercise

  • Jan 28, 2010 11:10 PM GMT
I have heard some people do it for health reasons, and that it improves health dramatically. Some people do it solely for the purpose of looking better and to get rid of their belly. I am doing it for both of those reasons. I am also doing it to get into better shape. How about you guys.

When I first started working out..I was 142lbs. I decided to make a change and really push myself at the gym. After a few weeks, some of the bigger guys asked me why I came in so much and what were my goals. I told them it was to help me with my anger issues.

So that is my answer...control my anger..LOL

Both sides of my family have issues with heart disease.

My blood pressure started to spike when I was 35. I went to a cardiologist, and he discovered a small abdominal aortic aneurism. Both my father, and his brother had the same issue in the exact same place. My father died because of it, and my uncle had a bypass two years ago.

I was about 20 pounds overweight. I had enough fat around my middle that it hurt to reach and tie my shoes.

    My mood sucked.

I’m taking charge of it before it gets worse.

I am still a skinny guy, but was a lot skinnier a year ago. I started seriously hitting the gym last December, fell off the wagon during the Summer but have been hitting it a lot harder than the first time since November 09. I am starting to see some pretty dramatic changes which keeps me motivated.

So part of it is vanity, another part is that I sleep so much better now, and the third part it helps me get rid of a ton of stress!!!

I work for an amazing company, a company that is always innovating and coming up with new ways to do things. Always thinking differently, but I am in the Retail side of the business. Retail, 40, sometimes 50 hours a week! Working out helps relieve all of that stress, I tend to go lift before heading into work. It really helps me get ready to attack the day and puts me into a better mood, even though I may have a few challenging customer situations throughout the day.

We are genetically encoded to exercise. If you feel the need to eat and breath then you also needd to exercise. Read about the zero gravity effects on the body. if you doubt me on this.

I'm doing it for three reasons:

    1. I want to feel good, capable, and be as healthy as I can be.

    2. I want to LOOK good, as hot as I can.

    3. I want to be able to eat more, because I have more energy needs >.>
