What thread count are your bed sheets? And where did you buy them? Curious...

Mine are 800 thread count Egyptian cotton. I won't go any higher as I don't want to feel like I'm going to slide off the other end when I jump in bed. I believe they were purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Does this win as kinkiest thread? Okay, I'll bite:

500 thread count. Single ply. Egyptian cotton. (Anything over 500 is two ply and will pill.)

Purchased from Bed, Bath & Beyond on clearance discontinued at 75% off (regularly $249 for a single king set of flat, fitted and two pillowcases). I bought every set they had (5) in every solid color they had (3), went to the next three nearest locations to buy more and found they were all sold out. They feel like heaven and wear like iron.

a lot of thread counts are over stated.

a thread should be the actual threads that create the warp and weft of the fabric, however, many manufactures with high thread counts actually count the threads that go into creating the individual strands of the warp/weft so things like 1200 thread count are actually bogus in say, cotton sheets.

but I have 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, they are oooooh so delightful to sleep in icon_biggrin.gif

Egyptian combed cotton - 600. They're fine and all - - - but too much bed-thrashing sex will tear them! Be careful! (lol)

TheGuyNextDoor saidI see a lot of us are rocking the 600 Egyptian cotton sheets. All white,, hides them wet spots pretty well the next day....icon_cool.gif

Tony - - - step back from these sheets! Leave them in the linen closet for times when your parents come for a visit. They will NEVER stand up to all the athletic activity that must go down at your house on any given night! Get something much stronger!

I don't know... There are probably quite a few advantages to transparent sheets...

In the winter I have flannel sheets. Rest of the year, it's cheapies from Target. I have no idea about thread counts.

I have decent bed sheets under there somewhere. I'm somewhat of a blanket whore. On top of my comforter, I have a couple of blankets. On top of those, I have a fleece blanket (uber warms in the winter). On top of that, I have a quilt that my grandmother gave me. And it ain't going no where.

So it's usually a matter of "under how many layers do I wish to sleep tonite?".

Not to mention, sleeping on top of all those blankies is supremely comfy. It would be a hard habit to change.

Let your breath be bated no longer! For today, friends, I went sheet shopping! Spent far more money than I have, but that's a problem for tomorrow!

My new sheets are 400 thread count, I believe. From the Sheraton outlet.

Alas however, I have no bed on which to put them. That arrives next Thursday.
