Congratulations, it's a boy - who will give birth next month.

Two proud papas are expecting a baby boy in February, London's Daily Mail reports, in what will be the world's second known case of birth by a "pregnant man."

"We know some people will criticize us, but we are blissfully happy and not ashamed," Scott Moore told the newspaper.

Moore and his husband, Thomas, were both born female and have undergone surgery to change their sex. The transgender California couple is legally married, as Moore still has his female birth certificate.

Baby "Miles" has two brothers waiting for him, 10-year-old Logan and 12-year-old Greg, Thomas' children from a previous relationship with a woman who has since passed away.

Moore, born Jessica, told the paper he first realized he wanted to be a man when he was 11.

"When I told my family, they thought I was crazy, but they gradually realized I was serious and allowed me to start taking male hormones when I was 16 years old," he said.

His parents eventually paid for him to have his 36DDD breasts removed, the paper reports, but he could not afford the high cost of full sex reassignment surgery.

Moore still has female reproductive organs, and got pregnant using the sperm of a friend in June 2009, the Daily Mail reports.

Thomas, born Laura, underwent sex reassignment surgery last year. "We were so happy, we did what all gay men do when they get excited - we went shopping," he told the newspaper.

Their story echoes that of Oregon's Thomas Beatie, who grabbed headlines in 2008 when he became the world's first "pregnant man." Beatie, born female, had undergone 10 years of sex reassignment therapy before becoming pregnant. Shortly after the birth of his first child, he became pregnant with another.

Moore and Thomas, who are planning a natural birth at their local hospital, are confident that their son will be able to cope with any teasing he might get about his two dads.

"We've been through it already," Thomas told the paper. "My son Logan was bullied, but now he just says to teasers: 'You may have a problem with my two dads, but I don't, so you're not hurting me

Still the world await for a man to have a baby, as it is yet to happen. Just because a women, can have surgery and receive injections to look like a man, this is living proof of how much of a women they still are; only women bleed.

Two lesbians have another baby, nothing new.

Personally I understand what they say and don't feel like they are the right gender and stuff. Thats their life so forth.

But I mean really? 2 women become men then have baby?
    I am highly confused.

Further in all reality its just a woman having a baby. Absolutely nothing special.

This type of situation is one of the hardest for main stream people to get past let alone GLB people to get past.

The focus on such individuals only really gives fuel for people to spite down any rights for GLB people in the world.

I really get frustraighted with media and sensationalism over this.

Rawrly saidObviously, this transsexual man in transition does not (yet) have a penis. Man and woman are social terms, male and female are biological ones.

It seems in the US, that more women are happy to just look like a man, and keep their vagina, and never have surgery to receive a penis, yet it's still much more easier to make a hole, than it is a pole too.

Hold on a second! So these two were women who realized they wanted to be men and therefore underwent sex reassignment or are undergoing the process. However they are attracted to each other? I'm a bit confused because I would assume that they liked women - hence they became men.

This is quite interesting in my opinion.

BTW, they need to hit the gym.

I really wish they would stop publishing this nonsense. While it's fascinating from a psychological perspective, it has absolutely nothing to do with real biology or innovation.

Also I'm truly concerned for the long term physical side effects this may have on the unborn child, with all those drugs the mother is having injected into her let along the long term psychological side effects on this child, as it grows up. It's common knowledge children can have major issues with their parents in their teens, over the smallest of things, let alone having to come to terms and deal with having two mummy's who look like daddy's.

You want to be a man, yet you want to give birth? What a picky BI***!

I once helped care for a guy with a mental illness who thought he was Jesus. He dressed like him, looked like he could be Jesus. But just because he felt he was Jesus trapped in a mortals body, should we accept him as Jesus, and hand all church funds over to him too?

Well I'm just saying that it looks like that's what they feel like, because they want to be sex-changed to male, but at the same time have a male/male relationship.

I do think gender identity has a at least some biological basis though. Our bodies develop as male or female so I don't see why our brains would not be any different.

New Rule: Until a fetus is inserted into a male who was born male and still appears to be male and walks around with a baby bump just below his hard pecs, this is not an acceptable headline.

Why is the media always doing this? The headline makes it seem like a guy got pregnant when, in actually, it's a girl who looks like a guy that got pregnant.

Every human is a combination of both male and female traits. After all, women can give birth to both MALE and FEMALE children. Children who, by the way, take traits from BOTH their parents (Guys and girls both have nipples, etc, etc.). People decide "boy" or "girl" based on the predominant, physically expressed traits which really doesn't do the ambiguous nature of sex justice but that's how it is.

As far as I'm concerned, to be a man you must have honor, honor and a penis. Since she was able to get pregnant, I doubt she'd also have a fully functional penis. icon_confused.gif

That last bit was mostly an inside joke but you get the idea.

Agreed. It's why I asked the question in another thread, how Health Care professionals are going to deal with such things as a women who looks like a man, yet has a vagina. Or by the time they go into aged care the may not be receiving fortnightly injections anymore, and the changes this will being on too. People need to be forgiven foe being confused, and not knowing how to deal with such things.

Sexuality in terms of what a person is attracted to is just the same. The thing with transsexuals is they identify and feel they were meant to be the opposite sex. The only thing I don't get is why would someone who is going from male to female would want to become pregnant? Usually when people make the transition they let go of all things associated with the sex they were born with.
