I caught up on Season 1 of RuPaul's Drag Race over the past few weekends. It made me long to have an inner drag queen, but I just don't have the kind of personality. I think I could be pretty, though.

I haven't seen the Season 2 premiere yet, so don't spoil it for me.

a fan of the show as well...

but years ago, trannyshack in SF had the REAL drag races, where the whole club would empty out into the street and drag queens would have a foot race in their heels. the spills were inevitably AWESOME.

Yeah, I caught up on this, too. Jade and Javier (Rebecca Glasscock) were the cutest guys. And Rebecca really did make a good woman with his features.

I was actually fortunate enough to talk with Brian (aka Shannel) a few times. He puts on a great show and is a very nice person. He and I have a mutual friend out in Vegas.

I am sure. I would hit it (with him out of drag). I like his curly hair.

I just caught the 1st episode of season two (have not seen any of season 1). Loved the concept...the drags are their own designers, tailors, models, makeup artists, and hair/wigdressers! Wow!!! If they would only have them live together too!! Awesome--fun show-very entertaining

OK! Please explain Drag to me...I honestly do not understand why any man would want to dress up as a woman? I'm sincere, I don't understand why this is a part of being a queer. And wonder why people have no respect for the gay communityicon_mad.gif

ps. That was mean of youicon_confused.gif

first of all, other than bigots and self-loathing fags (i'm presuming like yourself), PEOPLE don't lack respect for the gay community.

among other reasons, it's part of being queer because it's an in-your-face f*ck you to the stereotypes and archetypes of heterosexual masculinity. and, for the record, when you put on your syrup-stained flannel shirt before you run to the 7-11 for a big gulp, you too are in drag. and if it wasn't for some bad-ass drag queens at stonewall, gay rights might still be in the crapper.

why don't you refrain from spouting off about things that you admit to not understanding. you might avoid a virtual bitch-slap that way.
