Has anyone every had these removed? I know it would be a cosmetic procedure but I cant find a dermatologist who removes them. There was an episode about it on "the doctors" show. Anyone know about this?

I have these, but I haven't check to get them removed.

Definitely something I'm going to be looking into though... it's always a rough thing to explain to guys, and there are quite a few who (understandably) still think they're warts.

From the things I've read up on the only practical way to have them removed is with a cauterizing laser. You can freeze them off, but they'll return eventually since they're part of your genetic code.

I'm interested to hear from anyone on here who's had them removed.

You can only have them burned off which can lead to permanent scarring.
A lot of guys in porn movies have them, just go the any amateur website and look at their pictures. It's more common than you might think.
They're supposed to fade away over time. And they're not that big of a deal in most cases.

I remember reading an interview with Vince Rockland. He and his brothers Hal and Shane worked for Falcon in the 90's and apparently all had the same condition. He said he numbed them with Anbesol and cut them off with nail clippers. I probably wouldn't recommend that particular course of action.icon_lol.gif

Doing that is nearly as stupid as preforming a self-circumcision.

Try a foaming face wash with glycolic acid for a couple of months instead of your usual shower gel or soap. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid and is usually the main ingredient in "chemical peels". Glycolic acid in a foaming gel base will be mild but still might do the trick.

I know its normal. It occurs in over 50% of men. I'm not too self conscience about it, but sometimes they get bigger and more prominent, so i would at least like to reduce them. I'm really just looking for options, don't know if I'll actually act upon them because i am afraid of scarring and anything like that

It is a pain when doctors say something is normal and yet it can cause such embarrassment and be quite a big issue for some people. I've heard that laser treatment has limited success.

I have found that when I use spit rather than lube, it can get worse...I have also read that it is more prominent as you get older and if you are uncut, but would be interested in others views.

I found using a white powerful pimple cream, with a bleeching agent (wear white underwear if you do this as, overtime, it will bleech coloured underwear) twice a day helps in combination with a light (circular motion) with a foot scraper. Can be a bit tender...the idea is not to break the skin as this can be painful and can also create other sex desease transmission issues.

I know this is an old thread but http://www.nomorepapules.com/ is a website by a guy that had the CO2 laser surgery and got rid of his papules. He has a forum and a list of doctors that treats ppp. The guy that was on the Doctors show was a member of this website and he won the opportunity to be on the show. His site is probably the best resource you can find for pearly penile papules.

I had them since I was 16 and they just grew suddenly. I thought they were temporary and would go away but they never did. They are the reason why I haven't had much action today. There is a doctor in New York named Dr Yaugdin who treats ppp successfully with a cheaper and less abrasive manner. That's the treatment I'm gonna get some time after I get my tax refund lol.

To anybody who has ppp and wants to get rid of them permanently for cheap it's worth it to join the above website. icon_wink.gif

Why is he charging people for accessing the information though?

Also, would CO2 laser in such delicate area cause loss of sensitivities? I can't help but wonder if the lasers will basically be burning off the nerve endings... icon_eek.gif

He charges a one time fee because it took time for him to gather all the info he has and it costs to keep the website up every month so I can understand that. He also answers all of his many emails and I'm sure that's time consuming.

If you don't want to pay you can google "pearly penile papule treatment" and find lots of doctors who do it. The guys who have done it say there is no loss of sensitivity because the lasers don't go deep at all. The skin heals up and then you're back to normal in a few days.

I've had these since I was 10 and I was really freaked out cause at 10 you're anything but sexualiy active ! I went to see a GP and he explained to me that they are normally frequent in guys who have really high levels of testosterone ..

I've lived with them since and I'm 23 now a lot of guys have been chilled and not freaked out 80% of the times they don't even notice until I mention it

"It is a harmless anatomical variation. They are found significantly more often
on uncircumcised men and younger men."

"In species which retain the full expression of penile spines, penile spines contribute to sexual pleasure and quicker orgasms."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirsuties_coronae_glandis

Please leave your pearly penile papules alone. I have heard it being called a "French tickler". It is probably there to tickle the ladies.

This is more fallout from the circum-normative societies. icon_twisted.gif
