Ollie thinks that rescinding DADT is a bad move that will open the military to being forced to have pedophiles in the military.....icon_eek.gif god, why do these fuck-ups always find a wiiling audience on FOX?

"Oliver North, the retired colonel turned Fox News contributor, told the Hannity's America audience last night that if gays are allowed to serve openly in the military, it opens the door for allowing pedophiles to serve openly.

Host Sean Hannity questioned North on his feelings about the potential repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

North called the move to repeal the law a "stunning assault on the all-volunteer military, the very best in the world. Barack Obama now intents to treat them like lab rats in a radical social experiment, and it can be very, very detrimental".

Moments later he added, "Now, here's what's next. NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) members, same-sex marriages. Are chaplains in the U.S. military going to be required to perform those kinds of rituals? Do they get government housing?""

    UNBELIEVABLE!!!....

First of all, North is a retired LIEUTENANT Colonel, not a Colonel, the next higher rank. He was forced out of military service before he could be promoted again, because of his involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal, in which he violated US laws and his oath of office as an Officer. He was lucky to have been allowed early retirement by the Reagan Administration and not court-martialed.

But since more pedophiles, by number, are straight men molesting little girls than there are gays molesting little boys, we can only conclude, according to his logic, that straight men can't be allowed to serve in the US military, either. I suppose it must therefore become an all-female force.

And during my 25 years wearing a US Army uniform, I can't recall serving with any little boys, anyway. I think Lt. Colonel North needs to explain in what barracks he was encountering little boys.

You wrongly assume that everybody who watches FOX NEWS believes everything they hear on there as if it is the gospel. Give a little credit to viewers who have some intelligence and who are able to decipher certain statements and form their own opinion.

Gays aren't in the armed forces though. Homosexuals are not suppose to be serving in the armed forces according it's own policies. There are no known homosexuals serving because known homosexuals are kicked (suppose to be) out.

He's totally wrong about that. Allowing gays to do something opens the door for allowing pets to do that something next, such as a dog or cat. Once that happens THEN it opens the door for allowing pedophiles.
He's got the slippery slop argument messed up!

lol .. awesome arguments red! You can usually turn those arguments around using straight instead of gay and it is more fitting.

If Oliver North had been on a REAL news program, I would hope that the moderator would have asked him HOW the door would be opened for pedophiles to serve in the military.

#1: Statistics show that HETEROsexuals are overwhelmingly, more prone to pedophilia, than are gays.

#2: Whether or not pedophiles are allowed to serve in the military, is up to the CONGRESS and/or the PRESIDENT. Good luck finding any politician who would go for that.

Oliver North is a lying idiot.
He'd be good on a ticket with Sara Palin.

I am not surprised at the baseless, idiotic comments from Oliver North. The man is a conservative extremist which I find to be just as dangerous as a liberal extremist. Equating gay men with pediophiles, come on. It is well known that more pediophiles are straight men than homosexual men. Oliver North obviously needs to get his head out of his ass and come up for some long overdue fresh air.

Jesus H. Christ!!! What part of "predominantly" don't you comprehend?? That means most, not all!!! And yet people still tune in to the Garbage Channel...

    Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/predominantly:

    Main Entry: pre·dom·i·nant·ly
    Pronunciation: -nənt-lē
    Function: adverb
    Date: 1681
: for the most part : mainly

Curious, keep it up. You're losing your arguments with me more and more as time goes on...

    FACEPALM!!

Thousands are serving, just not openly. If there is a dark room full of people, does that mean they aren't in there just because they cannot see each other??

Oh really. They don't? Have you seen the now-famous Research2000 poll? Those of you who are Republican and think for yourselves don't make up an entire table of bridge.

If the best you can do, JP, is come up with some cockamame poll to support your argument -- sorry -- doesn't hold much water with me. Oliver North was voicing an opinion -- an extremist opinion -- HIS opinion -- and to say that everyone who watches FOX NEWS would agree with that opinion, or any one opinion voiced on FNC is just plain ignorant.

It's funny that Fox News viewers were informed of Obama's "terrorist ties" during the 2008 campaign and then were spouting off their talking points to a McCain rally.

I don't give FOX News viewers much credit when I hear them quoting FOX News propaganda at work, like the singular global currency hoopla that FOX was purporting last year.

You, curious, may discern the news from satire on FOX, but I can assure you with my experiences with righties, most cannot!

What part of "I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS WHAT ANY POLL HAS TO SAY, THEY ARE ALL BULLSHIT" do YOU not comprehend?

Loads of FNC viewers, me being among them, tune in to get one particular perspective from FOX NEWS (who, believe it or not, does give a variety of perspectives all the time every single day), just as many of us also tune into MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, and several other news sources to get other perspectives. Then, as intelligent, well-rounded, hopefully reasonably informed people we form our own opinions based on a variety of perspectives we have gotten through television and other media. You can paint all FOX NEWS viewers as a bunch of sheep all you want but it doesn't make it true, nor is it a particularly effective argument to make.

And whether this fool knows pedophiles have been in the military along with gays and lesbians. In fact you'll notice a majority of the officers that serve (just as Mr. North once was) lead double lives, picking up enlisted boys to serve out there erotic fantasies and they still have families to maintain a "good" image. This is oh so true among pilots, based off personal experiences mind you...

To be quite frank, the occurance of pedophilia occurs higher with straight men more with gays.

Mr. North it's time for you to go have a seat and drink some Green Tea w/Ginkgo Biloba and hush your mouth! icon_rolleyes.gif

^Yup. There's a straight guy in my unit that was sent back from Afghanistan on Pedophilia charges. He's awaiting his court martial. That makes 2 straight pedophiles in my unit experiences, 0 gay pedophiles.

You're so predictable. Digress into that tiresome personal attack mode as if that is going to make your own ignorant assumptions any more valid. How about at least coming up with something original. icon_rolleyes.gif

Like a poll, perhaps? You went off on a tangent telling me that you don't give a shit about polls, when I clearly didn't mention anything about polls. You know, you're not the first conservative to act like this when backed into a corner of a political debate/argument and refuse to admit you're wrong.

Yes and I notice sometimes just shooting the breeze with the fellas it comes up like

"Would you eff a 15 year old girl if..."
and all kinds of variables come up

    but when it comes to

"Would you eff a guy if..."
a few brave souls talk but anything else

    crickets...

(Curious) And speaking of ignorant assumptions, where do you get your information about FOX news viewerships and what they do with the info? It's either from a poll or an assumption.

I told you that I base my assessment of FOX viewers from my experiences with right-wingers, which I am surrounded by on a daily basis.

Oh okay, so you weren't basing your opinion on yet another poll skewed to come up with the desired results. I stand corrected. So, basically, you're just basing your own ignorant opinions on an assumption you personally have about FOX NEWS viewers. Hey, you have every right to do that...it's an opinion...As a FOX NEWS viewer myself, I don't happen to agree with it...but knock yourself out.

And for the record, just to be clear and keep with the topic of this thread, I think what Ollie North said was utterly ridiculous, way off base, obviously ill-informed, and I don't agree with any of it, nor I do I suspect anyone else does who has any modem of sense.
