This study is about straight couples, but I see some implications for gays, as well. I noticed this issue myself years ago, and am sensitive to saying "us" and "ours" rather than "me" and "mine." Exceptions are the car I bought him, which remains "his" and things that are for our exclusive personal use, like individual cell phones, clothes, etc. But aside from possessions, the expression of a shared life is also inherent in the "we" over the "me." What do you say?

I have always done this...even with my roommates (who have always been straight)..and it has caused more than one person to give me "the look" icon_biggrin.gif

I was a very selfish child. I don't know at what point that changed, I think in the Army, when I was a lowly enlisted soldier, and I was forced to understand collective values.

Not that I'm a Communist or anything, very far from it, not with my privileged background. But I hope I learned to suppress my selfishness, and think of other people besides myself.

And before I posted this article above, I've said here any number of times that a secret to a lasting gay relationship is to stop thinking "all about me" and learn to think first about him. And if he's doing the same thing about you, I really believe the foundation for a lasting & loving relationship has been assured.

lol, it's usually we or us or both of us to the point we think many RJ guys are ready to scream. We're that way offline as well.

We also say, "This yard is for you, this piano is for me and it's all for us."

The one that absolutely kills me, with heterosexuals, is, "WE are pregnant !"
