I didn't attend, but my bf did... there were 6,000 people at the Bi-Centennial Center at the Salina, KS Chamber of Commerce annual meeting... and then
she wooed the crowds at the Salina country club.

She is to speak in Wichita at the "Bethel Life" school event.

If I could have been able to attend.. it would have been interesting and I'd have been polite (just not eaten anything)....

I don't care what anyone says about her, I find her immensely likable, fun, refreshingly real, and down-to-earth. I'd sit down with her for a bowl of moose stew any day. I'm not saying I think she should be President, but I certainly see why she continues to draw enormous and enthusiastic crowds. There is no doubt that she will be a strong voice in the next elections. Not sure how strong, but her presence will certainly be a major part of the landscape.

Palin would certainly have been a far better president than Obama..........and if the election could have been held today, Palin may have overtaken Obama providing she had a better running mate than Gramps McCain. Think about it, with so many of Obama's supporters mad as Hell at him, wouldn't it be interesting to see if he'd get in all over again? All his empty "change" promises were good for the vote once, but will the people who voted for him give him the boot in favor of someone like Palin? Palin does not support gay rights as deeply or extensively as we would prefer, but then - Neither does Obama! At least Palin didn't mislead us into believing she would vote our way! Palin may not be for gay marriage, but she didn't lie to us to get our votes! Let's just see if the people of the country are mad enough at Obama to toss him aside in '12. A poor president can often find himself out of a job sooner than he thinks. Hello Jimmy Carter!

who the Hell was Jimmy Carter?

I think it should be clarified that while Palin, like Obama, Clinton, and many other Democrats, may not support gay marriage, that should not be confused with "gay rights" in the broader sense. I saw first hand at the 2008 concession speech reception at the Arizona Biltmore that she does support gays, has no problem with gays, has many gay friends, has worked with gays, etc. So, she doesn't support gay marriage -- she's entitled to her opinion on that issue -- doesn't make it right.

I thought someone had promised to stop using the phrase "the Palin woman" after realizing it's misogynistic.

How can you find someone likable and fun that hates everything we stand for?

How is that misogynistic? it shows disdain, but not for women.

By emphasizing her gender it smacks of misogyny. How is it different than saying that Obama Black or that Lieberman Jew? It's just petty name calling. If HK hates Republicans and wants to call them names I suggest MoveOn.org.

I am no fan of Palin and I am not posting to defend her. It's this type of post that made RJ unbearable during the election. Calling her names is just a way to provoke and anger other members of the site with whom the OP disagrees and it's barely any better than the posts of certain trolls on this site.

Are you insinuating Palin and Lady Gaga have something in common (between their legs)? icon_smile.gif

She's a quitter. She left the American people in Alaska, and she'd do the same to the entire country if given the chance. She's a divider, not a uniter. She's a failure as a politician, a wife and a mother.

This. She has a strong folk appeal, but it is her front for ambition and the desire for publicity. Quitting the Alaska job means she cannot be trusted to follow through. I also understand she is vindictive.

How can you agree with her and her policies? She went 5 different colleges and didn't finish her college or term. Most Republicans wouldn't vote for her if she running for president. I don't see Russia from my damn house

Nothing like "preaching to the choir."
Isn't Kansas about the reddest state in the Union ?
Tell her to bring her lunacy and lies to San Francisco and see how well she's received.

Ah yes... Germany quickly rose to become the largest and most formidable force in all of Europe, and almost the world. No wonder the republicans like her so much. But wait...Hitler's war drove the country into bankruptcy to the point that they were printing fake money to try to stay afloat until finally the empire collapsed (with a little help from the rest of the world that he had effectively pissed off.)

Why does this all sound so familiar?

I can understand why some people would prefer the right wing ideas of limited government and lower taxes (though I don't see how any gays could ever get behind the right wing social agenda). However, for the life of me I can't see how those same people cannot see this woman for the true dunderhead she is. She is simply and obviously not a very intelligent or well rounded person. Five colleges before somebody gave her a diploma? I'd love to see those transcripts. What happened to the smart conservatives? The William F. Buckleys? The party is being led around by a bunch of people with very limited education and world experience.

This is my favorite talking point about Palin right here, and it shows just how out of touch she is as far as education goes.

She's for abstinence only sex education. I'm assuming the curriculum she would have approved was discussed in her own house, to her daughter.

Yet her daughter still went out and got herself knocked up.... but Palin still stands that abstinence only sex education really does work!
