Im in the Philippines, and not too many people here have HIV unlike neighboring Asian countries. And on the news the other week, a man had admitted that he has HIV; he works in a callcenter (as you may have known by now, the philippines is the cheapest source of labor for subcontractiing contact centers) and he's gay. It was followed by a survey which said that 1 out of 5 men in this kind of business have had sexual contact with the same sex. This created a hype. People around me would accuse me of having HIV, sometimes jokingly but you could always see the prejudicing implications of it. And my friend would say the same, that every gay man who works graveyard is now a suspect of having the virus.
