I am finishing up all my paperwork for the Military Reserve to work as a firefighter on a local airbase and we have to enlist as military reserves... so... is this stuff now gonna apply to me?

I would think so -- you're going to be in "reserve" and could be called into "active duty" -- and I'm sure the same rules apply (even though you'll be off duty more than a full-time active duty firefighter airman would be.

But I could be wrong, and admit I've never thought about this. As far as I know, while I was in the Reserves, the same UCMJ applied.

Correct, it does apply to the reserves. You take the same oath as the active components, only your term and nature of service is different.
