Am I doing enough if I'm not sore?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to not be sore. It sucks when I'm sore after a workout but when I'm not sore, does that mean I did not work harder enough at the gym? I usually get sore when I work new muscles I don't usually work but after a week or so, I am no longer sore. Some times it's hard to gauge if I've done enough at the gym to see progress. I some times gauge my workout effectiveness on how sore I am. I know that's kind of a newbie thing to do. Thanks for any feedback.

The reason you are not sore is because your muscles are "used to" that certain weight. If your goal is to gain size, than i suggest lifting heavier weights every session. Remember not to just jump on heavy weights, work yourself up. Muscle Soreness doesn't always mean you worked hard. Sometimes not eating well, not recovering well, not stretching can lead to soreness. icon_biggrin.gif
