..or even buy on DVD. For me:

"Terms of Endearment": I don't like to see the inevitable ending of the story
    "Sophia's Choice": Same reason.

    You?

For me.. it was Schindler's List. I find that film absolutely heartwrenching and some of the scenes are just too much to bear.

I couldn't even make it through the first 10 minutes of the first SAW movie. Have never SEEN the others. icon_lol.gif

Hostel was gross too, but Hostel II I really could not handle, had to turn it off.

2001: A Space Odyssey. That movie fits this thread's definition like a glove.

    Great thread!

Schindler's List rocked my world - I saw it twice in the theaters just cause of the sheer horror of what happened . . . I had to get my head around it ...

And ya - I Am Legend - I was a basket case after seeing that in the theater!! But I love it!

    The Hurt Locker.

It was a fantastic movie.....though I couldn't relax for a minute throughout the whole thing.

The Green Mile. I cry every time. Like, I turn into a complete hot ass mess. The ending is so sad.

Poseidon Adventure -- Shelly Winters as an ex-Olympic swimmer? I can only suspend disbelief so much.

Claire's Knee--Turns out, it really is just about her knee.

Shortbus---Great Movie--Must avert eyes during cunnilingus though.

I would say Happiness. That movie is amazing, but at times so cringe inducing it's hard to watch.

First one that came to mind was American History X - extremely powerful movie.

United 93 - I was tense the whole movie and then just a mess when the plane's going down.

I've seen Requiem For A Dream mentioned here a bit, definitely agree that it's hard to watch but it's so powerful, I absolutely LOVE this movie one of my alltime faves. Might have to watch it again soon. icon_smile.gif
