AS STORM CRANKS UP OFF THE COAST...WINDS WILL QUICKLY INCREASE. GUSTS TO 45 MPH MAY AFFECT THE ENTIRE [Washington area] ON WEDNESDAY. THESE WINDS WILL PROMOTE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...AND WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES NEAR ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES WEDNESDAY. THE RESULT WILL BE NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AND AN UPGRADE OF HEADLINES AT LEAST ALONG THE WASHINGTON-BALTIMORE CORRIDOR MAY BECOME NECESSARY ON WEDNESDAY TO ADDRESS THESE CONDITIONS.

South Central PA here. 12-18 inches due by the end of the day (on top of the 22 we got over the weekend), with 40 mph winds after lunch. Snowmaggedon indeed! I'm hunkered down for the day with lots of coffee, work (and taxes) to do, some good tunes and plenty of comfort food. Only thing bad is I'm by myself!icon_sad.gif

Oh yes. I like to eat dinner, so I made sure to have a new one before I quit the old.

We had this same storm system pass Arkansas just two days ago and the ice outside on the ground has been and still is crucial. I can't believe it still hasn't melted.

My hat goes off to you all in DC, hopefully next week is all bright and sunny!

Yeah, I just saw that on the news, another 8-12 today. Still, I think I could have made it into work just fine, instead of using a vacation day. The PATCO is a very resilient train. Oh well, at least I can watch everything I've DVR'd recently.

At least the gales may keep the snow from settling on the branches of my evergreen trees...unless they end up horizontal. Ugh.

My boss called me at 6:15 this morning saying not to come in, so I wasn't going in anyway. But yeah, I live right across the street from the PATCO train, so I can always make it into work if I have to. Being the only one at work would suck though. And if Christie called it a state of emergency, I don't think we have to use vacation.

On the bright side, I watched Lost and The Good Wife.

Not sure, but let's cross our fingers. Delaware did.

LOL - but Gov. Jack Markell (Dela) is a Democrat. Christie will resist!

btw, it's a fact that snow plows do not go by your house until after you have cleared your driveway, usually when you're ready to go to bed.

The Weather Channel said Washington and Philadelphia were going to break their records for most snowfall in a season with this latest round. Records were kept beginning in 1884. So yes, Washington and Philly have been under the gun this year.
