What quote or saying has stuck with you, something that you remember when you need a little spark to keep you going?

For me, I always remember what one of the meanest 4th grade teachers in elementary school said to me: Nothing is ever too hard, it's just challenging.

It always stuck with me although I didn't quite get the concept at first. Challenges can be overcome but defeat happens once people declare something "too hard" to accomplish. Yes, you guys with a naughty mind can go so many places with that quote, but at face value, it's one of the things I hold close -- especially as I study calculus (and physics & chemistry... all at the same time.)

    "everything happens for a reason"

Simple a compact enough, but to me this little quote encompasses the entire universe.

My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition. Indira Gandhi

Never mock those who laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be entertained.

Not by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.

But that didn't work out so well for her. Of course I guess it depends on the work you do.

1st. Wherever you go, there you are. (i.e, you can't run from your problems, you are the problem)

2nd. The grass is always greener over the septic tank. (i.e, it always looks better somewhere else, but someone there is fed up with the crap.)

3rd. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.(need I explain?)

4th. When life hands you lemons, find somebody to sue! (joking but seems to be the new American way!)

5th. Treat all of life's problems like a dog does: If you can't eat it, screw it or bury it, piss on it and walk away!

    My two favorite sayings.......

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.
    Confusius

    AND......

As different as we all are, we are more alike than different.

(a therapist I had one time who did not remember who said it.)

If you continue to do things the same, they will mostly stay the same.

If you don't like something, do something about it.

    Success is by design.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

If you coddle something, it only grow weaker, but, if you strengthen it, it stands on its own.

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Pain is the feeling of weakness leaving my body.

If a problem has a solution, then, get going on it. If a problem doesn't have a solution, don't worry about it and move on.

If something pisses you off, get away from it.

Praying to fairy tale creatures helps no one. Real people do real things to help each other.

We walk into, through, above, and beyond our comfort zones to become better folks.

    And, finally....

Anything worth doing should be worth doing well.

If you don't take care of yourself, no one else ever will...

Tomorrow will always be better than today...

    and

"fall down seven times get up eight times..."

I recently read that somewhere and thought it was awesome...
