My new favorite singles website

    I discovered this website because my roommate's friend posted one of their pics on her Facebook wall.

    OK, so it's not really a singles site. It's a photo blog: a collection of photos from various magazines (but mostly Dwell) that feature modern homes and their wealthy, young, lonely urban hipster owners. The snarky author takes it upon himself to make up captions for the pics. I laughed at some of them so hard that I almost had a bathroom emergency. Here's a sample:

    Daddy was making them watch yet another documentary on the impact of Bauhaus on American architecture.

    It's one of my favorite short blogs. I recently 'discovered' it, too! Very funny.

    I don't know, but the site's kinda cool though, i like the interior designs. The pictures remind me of Edward Hopper paintings. icon_cool.gif

    Adding the roof deck to their cinder-block abode had been an afterthought. Now she thought of it more as an arena for natural selection.

    ha ha!

    One of the more pretentious websites I've seen lately

    I thought the site was mocking the pretentiousness of the photography. Perhaps you would prefer Lurid Digs

    The natural selection one Beaux posted is hilarious.

    It's hard to pick a favorite but I love most of the ones that involve children, especially this one;

    You can come out when you can properly explain the differences between Modernist architecture and postmodern ornamentation.

    Unhappy Hipsters looks great, but http://www.luriddigs.com/ taps into one our most primal fears - what's the worst that can happen after uploading a nude photo of yourself to the internet? Lurid Digs answers that question - you may wind up on this blog of unintentionally hilarious "horrifying gay amateur interiors." Spend more than two minutes on that site and no matter how masculine you think you are you'll find your eyes skipping over the naked exhibitionists to get to the real meat - veritable orgies of rayon chintz, cum stained recliners, nude statuary, faux tiffany lamps, sex slings and stuffed animal collections. Often in one room.

    As one reviewer said of the "Joceyln Wildenstein Was Here" room: "Nothing says 'it’s a brand new morning!' like a sunrise shining through the dried, tanned pelt of flesh ripped from the body of an endangered mammal."

    Check it out - you'll laugh till you cry. Depending on your taste level.

    It scares me to know that there are people like that running around loose. ... icon_eek.gif
