I shave my balls and shaft and am always hard when i do it but it seems really stubly right after so my question is, do you get a closer better shave if you are soft or hard when you shave there?

Semi-hard works best for me, and when my balls are up closer to my body, rather than when they are hanging lower. Hard is tricky--I think you are more at risk nicking yourself if shaving the shaft with a hard-on (in my experience, anyway).

I have an easier time semi as well. It also helps to use a really creamy shaving cream or gel, work it in and let it sit for a bit.

i shave the twig & berries in the shower. not popping wood is NOT an option...WOOT there is is! icon_lol.gif

after i dry off i sit on the recliner, foot rest up, legs wide open and dry shave again to catch what i missed in the shower.

a brand new disposeable is recommended for the dry shave.

Semi for me, whether with the electric Bodygroom from Norelco I currently use, or a blade. I think the skin of the shaft flattens more for the shaver when semi, rather than creating a rigid rounded surface to which the shaver cannot conform as well.

Before the Bodygroom I was using a Gillette Venus razor for women. Men's razors would nick me a lot down there, but a woman's version is intended for the body, I think something to do with the blade angle and the guide construction. But whatever the difference, I nicked much less using the Venus.

Only drawback is that mine only came in pink, not something you might want to use in the locker room shower. And yes, I've seen guys shave their junk in the open gang shower, including an ex-BF, which used to astonish me when we went to the gym together. At least he used a man's razor, disposables as I recall.

Try shaving with conditioner (Bumble and Bumble is my favorite). It gives you the closest shave, hard OR soft!

I've had great experience with Nair for Men but wait the full time to allow the lotion to work. Then take a wet cloth and wipe the hair away in the shower. I trim the pubes with scissors. Being uncut allows the foreskin to tangle in the hair and hurts when I get an erection because it pulls the hair. But I do have a long foreskin ~ probably not a problem for most guys.
