Thinning eyebrows.

So the last year or so my eyebrows have been doing very weird things. My normally dark somewhat thick brows have been growing in blond and thinner. The lower part of my brows are still pretty dark, but they fade and thin towards the top To compound this, there are always seem to be a few long thick wirery hairs hairs trying to make a break for it. In past years, I simply grabbed the offending hair and yanked it out, but now any lost hair sends me ever closer to the eyebrowless Whoopi Goldberg end of the spectrum. Looks great on her. Me, not so much.

Has anyone else experienced this or knows what causes it? I should also mention I that other than the occasional yanking of an errant hair, I have never waxed, tweezed or otherwise groomed my eyebrows.

For the record, I do not kill bunnies. I raise KILLER bunnies. It's not my fault if they sometimes turn on each other in the absence of non-bunny victims.

Mine did about the same thing over the last few years, and I do have thicker hairs that grow far longer that I trim back so they don't make me look like an old grandfather. I shaved part of my eyebrows about 10 yrs so I could be a Vulcan for Halloween...and that area really hasn't grown back as much....you can still see a little bit of difference between the newer hair and the old.

I guess most of it is a part of aging, but they now have topical solutions that thicken eye lashes and also eye brows. I have no idea if they work, but I want to try one and see.

I seem to be having the opposite problem - eyebrows getting bushier. My barber has taken to trimming them a bit after my haircut. I don't notice a difference but apparently he does.

Remember that nite you were wandering around Monroe Michigan*, naked, and high on mushrooms? And you fell asleep next to what you described as a "giant carburetor" that made you feel all tingly inside?

That might have something to do with the eyebrow thing, just sayin.

EDIT: I'm from Michigan, and I misspelled it in my first attempt. Oy, the shame.

I think it's the lightening that makes it worse. The thinning isn't too bad, but the new blond hair them look even thinner.

I could have at least gained some super powers or something. It would certainly expedite my evil plan.........

only super heroes get their powers that way. villains either steal them or get them when society performs some great injustice that permanently twists them.

sheesh, don't you read comic books?

Oh, but I do, I do. The U-Foes got their powers when trying to recreate the cosmic ray incident in which the Fantastic 4 got their powers. The Hulk's enemies The Abomination and The Leader both gained their powers through gamma radiation. Spiderman's nemesis, Sandman, was nuked on the beach and Thor's sometimes adversary Quicksand was mutated under near identical circumstances. Gimme 15 minutes to research it and I'll come up with a really long list.icon_wink.gif

I am so sorry that none of your fathers have had the father-Son talk with you guys Obviously neither about sex or eyebrows.

You must all be Baby boomer offspring. Yep my generation sucked as parents icon_eek.gif

It is too late to have the sex talk with you guys but eyebrows I can help you with that subject.

It's called the Andy Ronney effect. Normally doesn't hit guys until mid forties but strikes a small population of men earlier say early 30's.

Usually associated with guys who's balls dropped early in childhood. Some studies show a correlation to bunny handling at an early age. It was suspected the bunnies were on juice.... to big aggressive and ripped! Probably cross contamination is suspected.

The upside is you can work as a face double for Andy Ronney maybe a body double also. icon_cool.gif

    Good luck.
