    Been seeing previews for this movie for quite sometime. Has Leo DiCapri and is directed by Scorscese. It's not a summer movie, nor is it an Oscar Contender but they've been pimping it for awhile now. Makes we wonder if it's any good. Thoughts?

    It was supposed to come out in 2009 and was delayed until 2010. That would explain why you (we) have been seeing previews for it for a while. I will most likely go see it in theaters when it comes out!

    I didn't know it had been delayed. Curiouser and curiouser. I want to see it, the concept is pretty cool. Leo can be great in these type of movies.

    Dicaprio usually has pretty good taste. I'm gonna see it for sure.

    I will probably see it this weekend. It should bump Valentine's Day from the number 1 spot I would guess.

    Saw it a couple of days ago at the Berlinale film festival--It's definitely not scorcese's best film, but it's pretty good. I wouldn't watch it twice, if that makes any sense. It's worth seeing once though. God, could I be any more vague?
    Bottom line: It's not good. But it's also not bad.
    vague, vague, vague.
    make up your own mind.

    The commercials for "Shutter Island" are enough to creep me out. I went to see "The Wolfman" on Friday. I enjoyed it.

    The book by Dennis Lehane was really good. It was one of those that keeps you second guessing. Whether it makes for a good film we'll have to see, but you can't really go too wrong with Scorsese and Leo.

    I thought it was awesome.. Def unexpected. The ending was a little frustrating but I'd recommend it for sure.

    I thought it was awful. Never really picked up pace, and I guessed how it was going to end within the first 30 minutes. Maybe I feel like it was worse because I was so excited for it to finally come out, but I left very disappointed.

    I think there's going to be a really diverse reaction to it. The reviews are all over the place. Personally, I liked it. I am a big fan of Dennis Lehane whose book it's based on, but it's my least favorite of his books. It's Scorsese, so it's a gorgeous movie to look at. I think it would have been better if it had been 15 minutes shorter. The cast is great, I am glad that at 35 Leo finally looks like an adult. I love that he works with such A list talent, can't wait to see what he and Nolan have cooked up with Inception.

    I saw it at a Matinee today ! It was awesome - hm, I won't give any spoilers away but here are the details of what you can expect.

    * A really good stylistic Neo-Noir thriller
    * Story lines are very borderline Paranoia between Fantasy/Reality
    * Mark Ruffalo and Leo Dicaprio are really good in it
    * It's very Scorsesesque!
    * I was pulled in it until the end - absolutely loved it - a little long but worth it - 5 stars. icon_cool.gif

    "Shutter Island" is a 2 hour and 18 minute movie that requires your full attention from start to finish. If you have a short attention span that is the same longevity of your sex drive this movie is NOT for you. What's interesting about it besides the splendid acting from L. Dicaprio is that it's not what you expected it to be, but none the less has a lot of truth of what world militaries as well as governments were and ARE still doing concerning the "people" to this day. All that would be asked is that you take what's talked about throughout the movie by the characters with a literal sense, or else it's just gonna be another "show" you've watched.........

    I was seriously bored stiff. Not thrilling, AT ALL. Not scary, AT ALL.

    Totally predictable.

    waste of $9.75 and 2.25 hours.
