I don't think there's anything merciful about smothering someone, regardless of if they have a terminal illness... especially when the article didn't say the lover was on board (but maybe the video does, haven't watched it yet)

If your cancer comes back and is terminal, how do you intend to handle it?

I know if mine comes back, I am not living in pain just cuz somebody else who isnt suffering says it is immoral for me to end my life. In regards to my suffering, I will live until I decide it is time to check out...unless I die naturally before I reach my threshold.

There have been several movies dealing with it about the 'AIDS era'. I was quite surprised when I first found out about these assisted suicides/euthanasia (with the consent of the people involved). Apparently it was not uncommon back then.

    I recommend watching two:

    The Event (2003)
    It's My Party (1996)

Be prepared to cry your guts out. And yeah. I'd rather be killed too if I had some sort of terminal illness that has gotten to the point of no return and had no cure.

The main question with this confession is if the man he killed had expressly asked him to kill him.
