Such an ugly looking women! yet the way she sings that song is just so beautiful, so moving, a song that has for the longest time, been in my heart; now it's time I start to sing it too.

But I will sing for my one true love who was taken away from me way to soon, just before Christmas in a terrorist act in Moscow Russia. This is what my heart and soul sings to of had his love and too of been truly loved by him.

I have not cried once since his death, murder, but for the first time, this song made me cry, now the healing is on it's way.

I mean come one how long and how much exaggeration is needed for this song. Really got tired of it at about 1.5 seconds into the song. Sorry :/

She didn't look that bad at the Olympic opening. Must have been a low point, bare feet and all, in the video. Great song though. Great voice. Another Canadian to be proud of. Another homosexual to be proud of. Another human to be proud of. We need the Olympics more often than every 4 years.

The secret to world peace is in the spirit of the Olympic Games. The Greeks were onto something.

I remember that particular barefoot performance. If I'm not mistaken, that was an unplanned performance at the Canadian Juno awards, as she was filling in for an artist that couldn't make it. I remember everyone that was watching it with me was flabbergasted with her talent under those circumstances.

I'm with you Jeff. KD is probably the best female singer in the US, great voice and phrasing and style, but wasn't wild about the song and she was wearing a baggy suit in white that made her look like Wayne Newton!

Thread Resurrection and a reminder that no openly gay artist will be performing at the next Winter Olympics.

I'm saddened and disgusted that the artistic contribution of gays is being erased with these Sochi games.

    What are your thoughts?

This is a thread worth reviving. I saw her a few months ago and she gave me absolute chills when she began singing. Too bad those poor Russians won't get to know what it feels like to here a master like this perform. I feel sorry for their narrow little minds.

Move the games to Vancouver. Canadians are gracious and enlightened hosts.
