Who started the war between some of the religious and homosexuals?

Whose numbers are greater? I've heard estimates of anywhere from 2% to 20% of the world are predominantly homosexual. How many people worldwide subscribe to some religious lifestyle or claim to? I think we're completely outnumbered, guys. I do not ever ever ever hear of straight people, be they religious people or not, being beat up by gangs of gays for being straight or religious. In all my long life, not once. It does not mean it never happened, but, if you've never heard of it, can you imagine such a thing happening where you live or reading about it in the news or hearing it on Fox? When I hear people, gay or straight, telling me that I have to have tolerance for this kind of shit, spurred on by the lunatic rantings of people who believe in fucking ghosts, I want to slap them and get them out of their coma.

So, who started this shit? Do we really have to tolerate those who not only won't tolerate us, but would subjugate us to a class of lesser deserving?

I say it's the religious people who started this fight and it is truly a fight. They'd like to call it a culture war. What a sickening phrase. I'm a gay man, not a piece of pop art and certainly not some fictional character among the billions who'll suffer and burn for all eternity for it.

    Who started the fire?

    We did....

We did when we decided to deviate from normal human sexuality.

Or at least that is what the other side believes. It's always good to know the views of the other side and understand their reasoning and arguements--or lack thereof. Only then can we refute them.

I know that every night when I crawl into bed with my bf, I am infringing on the rights of christians. It only adds to the pleasure.

As far as western civilization .. you need not look much further than when "church joined state" .. the church in Rome specifically .. in the 4th century.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_LGBT_history

Not just homosexuals, but Jews and others deemed heretics - all subject to the violent whims of religious fanatics. It has continued in one form or another ever since.

    See:
Double Cross: The Code of the Catholic Church
It doesn't go as far back as I like but a good solid reference on how religious organizations brutalize humanity.

When I lived in the "gay-borhood" in Philadelphia, there once was a problem w/gay-bashers (I won't point fingers at any one group,I'll leave the finger-pointing to the heteros),but we started the "Fags Bash Back" program and the silly little homophobes were knocked off their little clouds right quick,LITERALLY! What did Theo Roosevelt say? "Skip softly, but carry a big stick"?

I can publicly apologize on behave of all christians. But would that make any difference to you? Tolerance only exist in one's heart, but to expect tolerance from others is in itself not tolerance.

As Roseanne Roseannadana (sp?) said, "It's always something!" Either what you wrote about above, or it's that damn Yves St. Laurant coming out of the toilet with a teensy, weensy, little wet spot on the front of his white pants... icon_eek.gif
I don't know about you, McGay, but I get so damn tired of it all sometimes. And this is one of those days...but, as one of our favorite broads said, "after all, tomorrow is another day!"
It is a war. One none of us chose to be in. Some of the topics that have been posted lately are from guys having problems with depression. It has been said that depression is anger turned inwards. It ain't easy. Nope, it sure as hell ain't. Sometimes, when we can't go to the source of our displeasure, we take it out on each other. (Especially since G_Force left.)
I draw strength from people such as yourself. Wildly irreverent humor. Bad man!
    War is hell, indeed.

    gays

"Homosexuals" really has to go. Look at the recent poll that was posted on RJ from an independent survey that asked Americans if they were against Gays and Lesbians serving openly in the military. The resounding response was no, they are not against it. Same question but formed "Are you against homosexuals serving openly in the military?" and the answer was like 70% YES.

I wish you could ebl .. the problem is that many people that call themselves Christians hate you too - that should be no surprise though because Jesus himself said it would happen.

If they were like you or some of the "peace churches" or even the Amish, there would be no problem. So even though you can apologize for those people in one sense, you really can't because their hearts are set on evil .. and it's been that way from the beginning.

    Dear OP,
Why do you care? Would you find an answer and then hold that group responsible? How? Fiscally? Physically? Prejudice exists in everyone- its the pre judgment of another before knowing them based on traits ascertainable through indirect contact. This is one of those theory of mind evolutionary benefits.

That said, freedom is rarely free- it takes hard work both to attain and to keep. So its up to us in this country to be good Americans, Christians, Buddhists, Hindis, Muslims, Jews, etc and make and maintain a case for our rights. Trying to untangle the mess that is human history will only leave you upsidedown and backward facing. I wish I could wave my fairly sizeable fairy wand and make it ok, but instead I get up every morning and know that I will have an uphill battle when my sexuality is involved. G_d(s) help us and those who are in worse straights.

That's 'cause Gay sounds happy and Lesbian sounds like two french women that have sex with each other which turns straight guys on icon_lol.gif

Homosexuals means that guys actually have sex with each other .. get it? icon_wink.gif
