Growing old is like being increasingly penalised for a crime you haven't commited. Age is a high price to pay for maturity.

Everybody thats my age should be issued a 2Ib fresh salmon. If you see someone young, beautiful and happy you should slap them as hard as you can with it.

Speaking as someone who considers himself young (24), I would object to the idea that being beautiful and/or happy is contingent on being young.
If my experience is worth referencing, spending every Saturday night without a date, having no human connection outside of work, or having someone to talk to only when he knocks on your door by mistake is not pretty, whether you're 19 or 90.

I may not be young, but I have a partner who makes me feel beautiful and I am VERY happy. Bring on the salmon, but I'll cook it instead.

Well at 24 I walked away from all the things that are yet to come your way, and went bush, and for the first few years all I had is what you have. But how I have been loved since. But being almost 50. I don't have the same value I did at 25. Oh and I was only having fun too, as I have no issues with getting old, as I have lived.

For someone who will be 49 this year I can truthfully say I have never been healthier, felt better or hornier! (Granted I don't get those inconvenient hard-ons any more, but I definitely been getting much more and better quality SEX!)
I feel SOOOOOOOOO sorry for all those young guys, especially the ones who put so much emphasis on youth, it is surely wasted on them. GIVE ME A MAN, NOT A BOY ANY DAY!!!!!!

I had the great good fortune, when I myself was young, to have relatives who were old in years but not in attitude. Those role models still guide me today, long after they've passed away. They were "young" right up until the end.

It's a cliche to say that "I hate growing old, but it's better than the alternative" yet I think that still holds true. You're going to grow old, ya know, every one of you, if you're fortunate. So prepare your survival strategies, because you don't have a lot of options in the matter.

The "survival kit" I carried with me into middle age (and now approaching old age) was borrowed from what I saw my parents do, and most of my family. My father was inquisitive and curious about everything until the day he died at 85, always wanting to know the latest things like the Internet, always learning, always mentally alive. When you stop doing that, you're already dead.
