So I'm waaaaaaaay obsessed with the NCAA tournament. Have done bracket predicting for almost 20 years.

No, I have no life. Sue me. Hehe.

Anyhow, I did a podcast on a friend's website last week and posted my bracket. Take a look:

Im going to check your podcast out. I usually do my own bracketology as well and the past two years got just one wrong out of the 65 selected.

Still waiting to win one of the many pools I enter for the whole tournament

Im pretty much obsessed about college hoops this time of year. March is a great month. Hope to check some of the Big East tournament live this year

Isn't that how it goes - know a ton about college hoops, and never win the bracket pool?

Honestly, selection sunday is such a bittersweet day - it's exciting to see the draw, but reality sets in that I won't be making brackets again for ten months. icon_sad.gif

LOL...usually its people who never watch any games that win the big pools. I do so many of them and then online too.

That day has become a tradition, make my final call on the field of 65, then sausage pizza with the boyfriend as we watch the selection show. He is a Villanova grad so its always interesting to watch while Im a Rutgers grad and we have not made it to the Big Dance since 1991icon_cry.gif

That night I probably visit a hundred sites but I like the physcial paper too so its tradition to go by virtually every paper out there on the newstand and collect the brackets and analysis.

Then Thursday and Friday its off to my buddies house to watch the games since he has Direct tv and we can switch to any game we want to see.. But some years theyve had the East Regionals either in Philly or East Rutherford so I was able to catch the games live but no such luck this year

Add me to the addicted NCAA hoop crowd. I'm in so many pools that I have to keep a spreadsheet of all my brackets and progress.

I've never won any pool, but I've come pretty close a couple of times. I usually do well in at least one of my brackets..............and it always bothers my str8 brothers and buddies.

A friend recently told me I've remained single for so long because I can't give up all my sports. Anyone care to join me?

My goodness - all that basketball love AND attractive? Are you sure you're still serious about your bf? Hehe.

I already called off work that Thursday and Friday. The last two years I stayed at my bro's place, and we watched from noon until midnight. Set up his DirecTV and our two laptops. It. Was. Awesome.

March Madness is one of my favorite times of year! CoolArmyDude does a bracket when the tournament starts. We only had a few guys last year, so it would be great if we could get more. icon_biggrin.gif

Yes, the eight or nine we had last year was pretty sad for a website for jocks. Who won last year? I was just happy not to be last.

Interesting breakdown, but not quite accurate.. there are many conferences that require that the conference tourney champ participate... like the Mo Valley (which by the way Northern Iowa is ranked). We hope that Wichita State (22-6) is also a participant.

Well at least some men's madness. Because lets not kid. There is no question on who takes the women's title. Starts with a U.... icon_twisted.gif

Not sure what you're referring to here - the Ivy League is the only league that doesn't have a post-season tournament. Every other league sends the conference tournament champion.

Wichita has little to no chance at an at-large berth - the loss to Evansville crushed them. Northern Iowa, barring a meltdown, will make the tournament. The MVC's best chance for two teams is if UNI loses in the conference tourney.

Were you thinking of Division II basketball? The regular season champ goes there as well as the conference tournament champion.

This always has confused me. Can someone explain how the brackets work and how the schools even get chosen?

    CLA? Hehe.

UConn's become a crazy machine. Women's hoops should be as competitive as ever, now. Instead it's dominated by one school.

Not necessarily... and I was inferring the tourney champions... but regardless, Northern Iowa will be there from the Missouri Valley, tourney champ or no..... and we'll see with "Bracket Busters" this weekend. WSU may be there yet.

Still not sure what you're what you're talking about. All conferences, save the Ivy, have a conference tournament, and the winner goes to the NCAA tournament. ALL are required to participate in the NCAA tournament if they win the conference tourney (of course, they'd be fools if they had the choice and didn't).

I'm predicting the HOKIES clinch the ACC Men's Basketball Tournament in Greensboro and go on to take the NCAA championship. icon_eek.gif We beat Wake Forest and come this weekend we'll do the same to Maryland, making us #2 in the conference. And just between you and I, let's pretend Duke doesn't count.

As a Wake megafan, I'm still seething over that loss to VT. Aside from the lopsided free throw situation, VT played a helluva second half, and it's going to be a great tourney. Maryland doesn't impress me...have very few high quality wins, and like many Tobacco Roaders/ACC fans, I'm loving that UNC has fallen apart. In any case, it's going to be a wild, unpredictable run for whomever wins the ACC tourney this year - can't wait to get my ticket!

Would have been nice to see Wichita State (WSU) make it in to the tournament. But you are right turtlesarecoo, that loss at Evansville did them in... Was a hard loss for us WSU fans to take.

Our hopes now are for them to Win the Valley Tournament.

What conference do you think is going to have the most teams in? All you hear in the middle of Big 12 country is that the Big 12 might get 6 teams in.

I think the Big 12's going to get seven. Kansas, K-State, Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor are going to go (unless they screw something up) and Mizzou and OK State keep winning and have good enough resumes. Its reasonable to see the Big 12, Big East and ACC all getting seven teams, but the Big 12 has done darn well for itself this year.
