His marital issues are irrelevant to me.
The only people he owes anything to are his wife and family, any forgiveness is strictly up to them. His public mea culpa is endorsement and career reparation for people who think his private life actually has some bearing on them personally.

I hate hearing about infidelity, divorce or marital problems in the media. I think no matter how public a figure those issues are none of anyone else's business.

What about his role model status as a public figure? Is there reason to apologize publically on that account?

    1) This media event was not about Tiger Woods; it was about his sponsors saving their investment.

    2) I don't care either about his infidelities.

    3) This whole issue about his infidelities that he incessantly talked about was a complete distraction from the unexplained "accident" he had on Thanksgiving night. What I'm saying is that it's not illegal to cheat on your spouse, but it is illegal to drive under the influence and to hit someone with a golf club. The local police department did not do a thorough investigation on the accident because it was Tiger Woods, the guy who proclaimed today that he no longer considers himself above the rules... And why was he barefooted in his accident? Why at 2-something in the morning? If he isn't above the rules anymore, then why didn't he talk about the accident and the circumstances surrounding it?

    4) Tiger Woods is a phony and a fake. This is like how the story in the musical/movie "Chicago" was nothing but a puppet show to appease the media and get the public back on his side.

    5) Why in the HELL do you stiff the media from this "press conference", especially the sports media. If he or his handlers thought the questions after his statement would be difficult, then what the hell do they think it's going to be like in today's aftermath?

More questions than answers. More disrespect than sincerity...

We have domestic terrorism and all the news focuses on is a golfer who does what any rich guy would do.

At least this country still has a good sense of priorities. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

As I see it he is role model for golfing, he's a golfer.
Much in the same vein as Phelps smoking pot, sports is sports, unless his activity gave him an unfair advantage I don't see how what he does off the greens is pertinent.
Do I agree with what he did? Absolutely not, he's a total douche bag. But forgiveness isn't mine to bequeath because he didn't cheat on me.

Tiger Woods is so much bullshit. The only things he's sorry about is that he got caught. Notice how his announcement was timed to be on the day of The Accenture Tournament in Tucson?

Nobody gives a shit about Tiger's pee pee. The game of "golf" is not tainted by Tiger sleeping around. That's his business. Pro golf is about selling advertising dollars and tickets.

I'm sick of hearing about Tiger's bullshit. Who cares?

Do these folks really think we're all that stupid?

this was not lost on me, it detracts from the tournament... the timing was another example of bad form.

Coolarmydude got it right the police didn't do there job because of who he is. If that had been a normal every day guy they would have nailed his to the wall. Tiger is full of himself and didn't give a shit about his wife or his children all today was try and pull my ass out of the fire and save my endorsements.

The next time you or someone you love is a victim to someone who gets away with driving under the influence, don't do anything about it. It's none of your business to expect the police department to do their job that your taxes pay them to do...icon_idea.gif

Coolarmydude, you are comparing apples and oranges. Yes he may have roared through the lives of others like a tornado, but no one got killed. Yes lives got ruined, but nobody is going to suffer anything worse than a bruised ego. Yes, he is a dog and was right to apologize, but it's still none of our business. I have no right to know this. Just because the man is a celebrity does not make him community property, no matter what the media says.

Sheesh! So you're saying that people should turn a blind eye, or better yet, the police department should turn a blind eye to possible serious criminal acts because no one was killed? WTF! Seriously?!!

So based on your statement about the death of someone as the standard in which an investigation is warranted, you would also see the sense that pedophiles should not be prosecuted if they didn't kill anyone...Madoff should not be imprisoned for bilking billions in a pyramid scheme because no one was killed...

Do you want to try again?

No, because again, we're not talking about a crime. We're talking about Tiger Woods' infidelity... despicable, but not a crime. We're talking about him making a fool of himself and others with his indiscretion. That is no crime. He just violated his marriage vows and the trust that came with them... not the same as a crime that warrants the police's attention. Nobody was robbed of their life or their material goods. No one was placed in harm's way. It's incredible to me that you can put that and Bernie Madoff on par with each other. Fool.

Never cared for him at all, especially after he dissed some children wanting his autograph outside of the plaza hotel here in new york... I was in walking into the oak bar for some drinks with friends and witnessed his fucked up behavior towards a small group of kids who got really excited seeing someone famous, but he behaved like a real asshole....
