Is not for dates. It's great for keeping up with my friends that live overseas.

I love it. I have gotten dates and other things out of it. Plus, it is great going out and seeing a dozen people within zero feet. As far as Grindr is concerned, an orgy is taking place.

    "Sup"

Seems to be the word that most guys in my area tend to use to introduce themselves on grindr. But it's like any other site for gay guys:

    1. The headless torso: is either "straight" and married, has a bf or gf, and is generally in a hotel room "nearby". Such a looser!

    a. typical introductions:
    1. "Hot!"
    2. "Your close"
    3. "Airport Marriott here",
yes I live next to San Francisco Int.airport, which sucks on grindr.

    2. Most guys do not read any text that accompanies a profile such as "no hookups", and start to try and get a hook up, sigh.

    3. Some guys can't take a hint when you ignore them 3 times over a month. yeah I know it sounds heartless to not respond when someone takes a chance to say hi, but when they don't read the text they deserve it. I like guys around my own age and I get a response like, " You into older guys?" WTF! No I am not into older guys especially ones that cannot read.

Secondly what is up with pseudo pedophile guys around 35 that state they only want to date guys 18-30? Come on, date someone your own age.

I wish it worked like that for me. When I get on I either missed the dude by 10 minutes or 15 hours. ... icon_lol.gif ... and even the oldest are too young. *sigh*

I'll have to disagree with you on this point.. we gays come in all ages, shapes and sizes.. choose your type AND age,,
and he's on there.. at least he and he and he is in these neck of the woods..icon_cool.gif

I said not enough, not none.

Altho I did finally meet up for coffee last evening with one who is in my age range and cute.

It's good entertainment. it's making the gay community feel even more smaller thou.

I just met a fellow on Grindr. Goodlooking and very intelligent! ...Of course, I then had to go to Tucson and now he is in LA. Ho hum...we message via Grindr and will meet up again when we both get home.

But out here in Tucson, Grindr doesnt seem very popular. The guys on it are often 90+ miles away. W'sTF with that?

Has anyone ever gone to one of those "Grindr Parties" that some clubs host from time to time? I see ads for them, but have never gone. I just have this image of a few hundred guys standing on a dance floor looking at their iPhones to see who is nearby and texting them "Hey, says you're close." Instead of looking around and smiling. Maybe that's not what it's all about, I have no idea. Just seemed like a strange concept to me...

The technology isn't the issue, then, but your location and what you can get out of it, wouldn't you agree?

I'm just amazed by this stuff, and try to keep up with it, so I have GRINDR on my iPhone as a novelty, being monogamous with a partner. One of my little personal mottos is: "I refuse to concede technology to children." Until the day I lapse into total senility (and no bitchy remarks from the Peanut Gallery, please), I intend to exploit these marvels as much as I can. I take the position that if others can do this stuff, then so can I.

But something like GRINDR only works if you live in a place where enough gays are using it. Otherwise your pickings are slim, and even an iPhone can't solve that problem.
