like mint....so it doesnt roll when you slice it. ... icon_evil.gif

This is a significant economic concern. Think of the man-hours of productivity lost by chasing after errant carrot nickels rolling off the cutting board!

Carrots are bred? Now I can't get the images of fucking carrots out of my head.

    Thanks Cas!

And what does a female carrot look like, anyway?

The vast majority of flowering plants are hermaphrodites, actually, but both male and female parts are contained within the flowers. In some species, any given flower is either male or female; in others, each flower is itself hermaphroditic. Cultivated carrots can either have individual flowers be hermaphroditic, or can switch from producing male flowers first to producing female flowers later on -- sexuality is very weird in the plant kingdom. Phallic issues notwithstanding, we simply eat the root of the carrot.

(And, yes, I realize it was a rhetorical question. That rarely stops me)

The number of times I sliced my own fingers with these things is beyond belief. Being distracted for a lit bit, ouch and bloody vegetable dish is in the making...
