Seems to me he was already damaged by experience of being a homosexual.

No Pattison, the severe damage was caused by the ex-gay therapy.

Sounds to me like the ex-gay minister was nothing more than a sick predator. Very sad, really.

No issues with other people issues, as they are this to carry and not mine. I however feel for many of them in fact.

I also Have no issues with the gay man touching me when I was 5; I've never played the victom. I did not then, nor do I now. This is what made my Pa treat me as something dirty, because I never did feel abused. Albeit I now know what happened was wrong, and it was many things, but never love, or tender touch.

To me it does, as I've witnessed many people suffer, and damaged by the gay community, as they never felt they belonged, or where damaged by the nasty spitefulness of the gay community if you don't swim with the flow and fight it, or not giving out to the people who want to touch you.

Fuck, Patti, fuck fuck fuck. Sorry that shit like that happened to you. It's not good no matter how you came out of it. Despite all the barbing we share, I'd, well, shit, Patti, I'm just sorry, that's all.

I hope you know he was, in addition to being gay, a pedophile. They don't go hand in hand, most pedos are straight.

In 1998, I had just accepted the fact that I was gay, but thinking it was just a phase, I called EXODUS (ST Louis) to see about the program. The man who answered my call had the most stereotypical gay lisp you could imagine and after mentioning that I lived two hours away from St. Louis, he said that it was not possible for me to be a part of EXODUS. I thought that was odd. I hung up the phone accepting my homosexuality in full. icon_biggrin.gif

    The nerve of these people!

Holy shit! LITERALLY! I called 700 Club and asked for prayers. The woman on the phone turned out to be a man. I kept saying "yes, ma'am" and finally he revealed himself and it was like getting cold water thrown in my face.

This was around 86 or so.

That has nothing to do with being gay. MANY people do not fit into the gay community.

The only way you can suffer is if you allow it to affect you... if you allow those few spiteful meany gays to affect you and your self-worth--in which case, the person who is suffering shares part of the blame.

Reading your posts, I can say you are as guilty as anyone for blaming gays at large for something they never did. If you have problems, you need to see a therapist, and not take it out on others.

Damaged? I think what you've witnessed is the "damage" that a lot of gay men bring to the table
Are there gay men who act out and do self-destructive things?
    Of course there are
    Gay men are human
but the damage that gay men must endure to get to adult life is FAR worse than in other segments of society
That's why young gay men have a high incidence of suicide ... because of the things they have to go through
