One of the BEST chase scenes EVER in slasher film history, the killer's got quite the AXE TO GRIND on revenge. Check this out...! (&& yes SCREAM && I Know What You Did Last Summer was modeled HEAVILY after this film - The rules, the paradigm, all of it!). Watch SCREAM & you'll hear the title "PROM NIGHT" name dropped quite a few times!! Scream was Kevin Williamson's 'love letter' to 1980's PROM NIGHT. Dated music, yes (though I LOVE the ripped off disco songs!!!!) - However the killer was more human than the usual slasher of its time & many o' the sequences were QUITE well done.

(***&& let's drop the fact there is a embarrassing dance number involving Jamie Lee, that's so old news***) icon_wink.gif

C'mon folks! Show some love icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif

Everyone who at leasts like to watch a good ole' horror film loves the suspense & BUILD UP. Which, 1980's Prom Night does deliver!!

I am aware that MANY o' the "stand alone" slasher films aren't too well-known to most mass audiences - mainly the "Franchises" (ie Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare On Elm ...)

But MANY stand alone slasher films delivered good stuff (aside from the grue!). IE: The Prowler, The Burning, Final Exam, The House On Sorority Row, the original My Bloody Valentine....etc etc

Hell YES! Terror Train, also meant to be added to that list, had QUITE the sleight o' hand when it came to the "identity" of the killer! icon_cool.gif
