What was wrong with the original? I mean, don't get me wrong, I am excited to see his, but I am still a huge fan of the 1984 version.

Freddy's voice sounds like Batman's voice. I don't like it. The rest looks decent.

    FREAKIN" AWESOME.

That was one of the movies that scarred the hell out of me as a kid. NMOES 1 was the only that really did it me though.

I can do without the Bat Man voice as well. It sorta kills it.

Visually it looks like it's going to be awesome. I like the presentation of this trailer better than the last. It looks like it will have the classic Freddy creepy-ness with the setting and music. I'm a little worried because the new Freddy doesn't seem as intimidating as the original. Not sure if it's his face or the voice. Regardless I'm still excited they are remaking it.

    The Freddie Kruger Rhyme!

One, Two Freddie's coming for you.
Three, Four better lock Your door
    Five, Six grab your crucifix
Seven, Eight better stay up late
    Nine, Ten never sleep again.

    Like the original much better.

Well i have been waiting for about 2 months since I seen the first trailer. Not that it was very exciting. And now this. This one is def more detailed and exciting but I don't like the way he looks. He 'scars' look low budget like they just wrapped him in bacon or something. But I am anticipating it.
I just hope they have Robert England in it somewhere since he will always be the first and original Freddy.

..... yeah I don't like this new Freddy's voice either.

It looks way better than most of the horror remakes we've seen recently.

Usually don't like remakes of my favorite movies, but I will see this. Gore looks great, his voice or appearance don't really bother me. In fact his appearance is kind of more scary. You barely even saw Freddy's face in NOES-1....it was always in the shadows.

The big issue can be that Michael Bay is involved, who is responsible for so many piles of shit a HAZMAT team needs to follow him around.

I want to be excited for this movie...but I was burned with the Friday the 13th remake.

Total garbage. Don't even get me started on that craptastic gem.

Some of the images are the same from the original Nightmare (Freddy stretching the wall...coming up in the bathtub), so I think it's going to be a let down. And I love horror movies.

Maybe I'll be surprised. The recent Texas Chainsaw remake was great (first one).

I hate to rain on everybody's parade, but word on the street here in LA is that it's a disaster. They had a test screening for it that went horribly for them and I was just reading that they've had to reshoot a large chunk of the movie (as much as 30% of it). I read today that they might scrimp on the gore and send it out as PG-13. Michael Bay's production company is behind this and their track record is pretty bad. I wasn't interested in this until the cast Jackie Earl Haley and now I am not interested again.

I don't understand remaking a movie that was really damn good to begin with.

I like when they remake movies, regardless oif the original was amazing. My thinking is, why not? It doesn't hurt anyone to make a remake, so do it.

Some remakes are not so good, where others are amazing.

I love "The Ring" & "The Grudge" remakes. I'm a supporter of remakes

I don't have a problem with remaking films from foreign markets like The Ring and The Grudge (or The Departed for that matter) for the US market, but there's no logical reason to remake a movie that was well made to start with. The only thing you're going to do is wind up making something that isn't as good as the original. The only reason Freddy is being brought back is to make money off the brand name. Hollywood is totally, completely 100% creatively bankrupt right now.

Overall agree. This is why it makes sense best picture went to a beautiful cartoon with a crappy plot.

I don't even have a problem with remaking older movies, as long as they are well done. I LOVE Nightmare 1 and don't mind re-imagining it, but the original will always hold a special place in my heart.

Horror movies are my fave but I'm not too thrilled about this one. Micheal Bay?? Wtf? Freddy looks lame and his voice doesn't mesh, not scary enough. I will wait for DVD. That trailers shit

I'll see it, but ... any Freddy movie without Robert Englund has to work in order to quell my reservations. icon_neutral.gif

From what I've heard - yes there was a screening that got some negatives - but the only part I really am sure of is that they filmed some extra scenes to pan out the beginning of the film more - && NO - the film is NOT going to be PG13!!

This movie will be bloody as the original!

I agree w/ most - I do follow the "Don't fix if not broken" ethos - cuz w/ me, 1984's original NIGHTMARE is a grand slam in my book! You Just Can't Touch It...!!

As far as the track record to Michal Bay's Platinum Dune remakes, yes aside from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre & the FIRST 20 minutes of Friday the 13th - the other remakes have MISSED the spot & opportunity ENTIRELY (ahem...lookin' at you Amityville Horror)

However, New Line did want to resurrect what is/was basically their "Bread" - & give it a face lift of evil again. Cuz, as you know, by 1991's FREDDYS DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE, he was well far into comedic territory that even the toughest of Long Island Iced Tea's can't shake off.

They wanted to bring Freddy back as SCARY again. THAT, alone, is what has me excited for this. Just look at this way - of ALLLL the installments in this franchise (INCLUDING Freddy Vs. Jason) - this, simply, can NOT be the worst.

But, us horror fans DO know that & have fallen victim to a Great edited trailer to what eventually turns out otherwise a very shitty film.

The only part of the preview I dislike, is that PHONEY ass CGI of him coming through the wall at nancy. Man, that scene in the 1984 ORIGINAL was WAAAAY better looking than that! HAHAHA

Otherwise, I'm curious & excited to see what they do w/ this. They've introduced new ideas into it while remaining faithful the source material (what remakes SHOULD do!) - I like the micro naps idea, & the different takes from the orignal scenes (instead of Nancy stepping up steps of WHITE gunk - its a hallway of BLACK tar oil shit.....which looks, AWESOME!!!)

Anyone wanna watch it w/ me? icon_razz.gif hehehehe
